I feel I have found the correct installation which is the cure to hold the Donuts in place (w/o any downward pipe as 1st attachment). âÂÂFinallyâ the 2nd attachment shows the Donut is put in place before the Pop-UpâÂÂs head is screwed on. âÂÂMost Headsâ holds the Orbit Donut in place and was found in a review vs any instructions. This makes since except for the Pop-Ups heads 2-3â below the ground. Those Donuts stay in place due to their depth to the top of the Pop-Ups. Plus, they are dangerous if accidentally walk on. It was hard to believe the local Installer that services the system felt the 2-3â deep (below ground) did not need couplings, Etc to raise them to ground level.

I have a lot of plants and I buy peat and perlite in bulk. Lowes or just about any big box store or nursery has bails of peat moss. Premier was the brand on the last 2 bails I bought. The name Turba or Tourbe is often on the package. Google "sphagnum peat moss lowes" for an example. Plain perlite without fertilizer may be a little harder to find. Nurseries carry it but you may have to visit several before finding the 100% perlite. The brand "Ferti-lome" comes to mind. No do not place a nepenthes in full sun. Under a tree in a hanging basket would be perfect. 95 is not a big deal. A nice "take with you to the garden" journal consists of using a recipe box (I prefer the 5"x8" size) and use two types of dividers (Alphabetical A-Z and Monthly Jan-Dec). I then file a card for each plant/tree/shrub by name of plant and also include plant detail/care/other information, where/when/price purchased, and where planted in the alabetical section. I also can place a photo protected by clear tape on the back of the card. In the monthly section, I file general cards noting "TO DO'S" that I would like to accomplish that month so I don't forget seasonal needs (fertilize, prune, etc). One could also add additional sets of alphabetal A-Z dividers in possibly different colors to use to further divide different groups (annuals, perennials, trees/shrubs, etc). You can also use the monthly section for other monthly reminders you may want to remember (birthdays, anniversaries, or special "to do" reminders). Hope this is helpful - Works for me!

The deer seem to like some of the plants from the Lily family. I'm growing several different Lily varieties, including the 8 foot bushy Breck's LilyTrees and found out that the Dial soap in the colorful socks seem to keep them away from my flower and veggies. The deer seem to pass up my area when passing through the evergreens and other trees behind my house. But, they visit my neighbors yards and wander through them and cross the streets via same, but, not mine... When I lived on a couple acres in a heavly treed area area beforehand and had a veggie garden 120 feet long by about 30 feet wide and had a 4 foot fence around same, they would jump the fence and visit my 20 foot long raised beds that were full of veggie crops. There, had raccons that gave me some competition and would even beat me to my corn when it was ready for picking and the like along with some other crops too... Now, in a senior citizens development and container gardening. This year, have 10 containers alongside the house/building that contain Lily flowers and a few veggies in the 30 to 50 gallon Rubber Maid type containers, both circular and oblong. Drilled holes in the bottom of the containers for drainage, and bars of Dial soap in the socks near all of them, and hanging off of the tomato cages etc. I like to use the Square Foot Garden method in the containers. THE PHOTO: Had just planted veggies last month in these 4 containers and have netting across same to keep the birds away from the newly planted herbs and veggie plants. Note the bar of soap hanging off of the waggon wheel. Added more of same to this area to keep the deer away... Have the Pink Flamingos "on Duty" in NJ...
