Blending colors in a Great Room? Help!
Comments (5)Hi Tim, Thanks so much for your response! I've done that too, believe me, lol, but I just can't see sitting in a room with blue on one side and orange on the other, well, maybe in a rec room, but not a kitchen/family/dining area IMO, plus I think it would look awful where the two colors would inevitably have to meet. BTW, for anyone reading this thread, the color on the website doesn't look a thing like it does in person painted on a wall. It looks kind of clay-brown on the site, but it's actually a warm but bright orange/red. I really didn't want a boring neutral all over the living space, but I guess that's what I'll need to do because I really love the Medit. Sun color....See MoreWood stove placement in great room? Comments (16)I watch a lot of "Escape to the Country" on YouTube, and I love the way the huge ol wood-burning fireplaces have been turned into homes for stoves, either wood-burning or multi-fuel ones. I love the way that huge fireplace is the focal point for the LR and also protects other objects (and people/pets/children!) from getting too close to the stove and being burned. I would not want a free-standing stove at all....See Moregreat room help
Comments (18)Cindy - thank you for sharing your experience with the TV/fireplace neck & I'm happy to hear of no pain or neck strain, especially during gaming (which can be intense I've witnessed, haha). LB interior, thank you so much for your insights and drapery inspiration. We did consider lowering the mantel & the TV mount that hinges out/lowers, however, you are indeed correct, this is an intimate space, so pushing sofas back would impede the walkway spaces. lots to consider, this is why I like houuz. fresh insights of others responses, ideas, critiques and definitely experiences with the tv over the fireplace really helps! so the more the merrier and thank you! also, the cat can be moved, he's not a structural piece, despite his thoughts ;)...See MoreGreat room design help
