That tv corner is awkward. Can you get high, corner piece, that is light and airy, and more contemporary. Something you can put the tv on, and the tv could have a cabinet underneath, and maybe a couple of shelves above. I do think that it should white, and modern . The corner looks bottom heavy, and white or some other light color that is close to the wall color would look much better. The windows look nice and clean, and let the natural light in. At most i might put a mesh shade in the a color close to the wall color, or something in a natural bamboo look. I can't see what is on the leather chairs, but they could use a pillow, maybe in bright mongolian lamb, ( they have many on this website for sale ), but I would keep the backgrounds of the room, which means basically, the floor and walls ( which forms an envelope ), and bring in color on the pillows, or throw, and art work that is either black and white photography, or high color art work, that shows up somewhat solid. Nothing faded, or feminine. The room has good bones, and it needs strength.

yes, there are diff types of tile. (if you google image search spanish tiles inside home" or interior terra cotta tiles", you see lots of ideas) (Do you have a spanish style home w/the wrought iron staircase design you could copy? you can easily do the color tiles on the risers of your stairs you may be able to find somehting like these in porcelain. the Saltillo tiles you find for cheap are made in mexico. they don't have to be uneven, but they will need sealing and can be slippery. I laid this tile w/some Talavera tile accents on my back patio. If you don't get the pre-sealed tiles, they won't be as slippery, and these are pretty flat. They looked like this when I got them The sealer really darkens them. You can get these in diff tones and seal w/a non enhancing matte sealer. here's an arabesque shape that are matte and have a little texture to them. paired w/the square tiles on the staircase. it's fine to mix and match. if your budget is a little more flexible, try the actual Terra Cotta tiles. Zia Tile (Cle tiles too) has these 6" star and cross. I love these. prob won't be cheap to install mexican terra cotta (same as the square ones) Fireclay Tile also carries these The mixed colors are also nice. the soft sand color w/the rust accents would look nice w/your walls and chair colors. larger rustic colored hex terra cotta.
