Nearly every State, without fail, has laws that require that LLs must provide the basics for human shelter: heat and water. Air conditioning can vary depending on geographic location and state law. State laws generally do not state that laundry facilities are a requirement. Because it's not a necessity for human shelter. One can go to a laundromat if need be. However states vary on appliance laws. In my state, if appliances are included as an inducement to rent (meaning unit is advertised as having specific, named appliances) then LL has to maintain those specific, named appliances. It's worded this way in my State law: Landlord obligations Sec. 5. A landlord shall do the following: (1) Deliver the rental premises to a tenant in compliance with the rental agreement, and in a safe, clean, and habitable condition. (2) Comply with all health and housing codes applicable to the rental premises. (3) Make all reasonable efforts to keep common areas of a rental premises in a clean and proper condition. (4) Provide and maintain the following items in a rental premises in good and safe working condition, if provided on the premises at the time the rental agreement is entered into: (A) Electrical systems. (B) Plumbing systems sufficient to accommodate a reasonable supply of hot and cold running water at all times. (C) Sanitary systems. (D) Heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems. A heating system must be sufficient to adequately supply heat at all times. (E) Elevators, if provided. (F) Appliances supplied as an inducement to the rental agreement So you need to check your state's landlord/tenant laws. You can readily find it by googling "Texas landlord tenant laws" (leave out the quotes and put your state's name in where I put Texas).

I wouldn't buy an all in one. What if you wash something and a stain is still there. I wouldn't want it to be dryed. I would want to rewash it. A dryer drum should be much larger than a washer's...almost 2x. I have heard of people filling up the drum and then the dry time took forever because the drum wasn't big enough for all the clothes put in. I also don't feel that the all in ones are meant for a heavy amount of laundry. I would get stackables. You should have more to choose from with more options and a wider range of prices. The all in ones are very limited in choice.

Sure it's handy but you can't dry a load as you wash another. The tub is too small to dry what you just washed. It would literally take HOURS to dry. You need LOTS of tumble room so things dry fast and with less wrinkles. You'd be better off stacking FULL sized machines.

Are you thinking of this for your house? Apartment? RV? There's pros and cons. If you don't do much laundry and time isn't an issue, then they could be good. They take up less space. If you only do one load at a time then the time issue isn't as big a deal. Cons? Generally they're expensive. You either can only wash 1/2 a load or you have to split the load when drying. The ratio for efficient drying is the dryer should be 2x the size of the washer or more. It needs the extra space for ventilation, tumbling and to just work right. Plus you obviously have to run the wash, then the dry cycle rather than overlap for multiple loads. Ventless means you deal with the water in a pail and need to empty it. And non-vented generally take longer to dry than a vented machine. Much would depend on your use and purpose.
