Help me choose an exterior color scheme
Comments (9)someone asked about the setting. It's in north Texas in an established neighborhood with houses ranging in age from the 40's to new construction. Our original plan was the first pic but the architect offered the second. We're just breaking ground but we need to choose the brick, roof tile, and window cladding color so I appreciate all of your input. After my doubts, I think we'll probably stick with the first. It's been a year long design process and it is anxiety-provoking to think that all of the selections will actually be put out there and have to work together. It's all fun and games until the checks have to be written. Thanks everyone....See MoreChoosing my first exterior color scheme
Comments (5)Thanks for the response, from recommendations of other friends too they said my like is just too dark for my house. Wish it was designed better...too much roof in the view! :( So here's the other two colors I'm really liking. :) Again, hard to tell how they'll do on my house. The left side is unique with the purple trim (reminds me of a whimsical cottage). But its kind of muted. I like how the right side pops but don't totally like the yellowish trim..and what color is the shutters, dark green I think? And it may not look as good without having more of that nice brown with the garage doors. I got my first quote too, 1800! Seems a bit high so having others tomorrow. Hoping to stay near 1k-1.2k otherwise its eating into my new patio budget....See MoreChoosing an exterior color scheme with our new home.
Comments (2)I'm cracking up because of the number of colors you have tried. I'm the same way when it comes to finding the perfect option for just about anything. Maybe you are simply looking to have fun with color and want more than two colors on your house, but I like to make gutters as inconspicuous as possible. So, I would probably paint the fascia the same color as the window trim and gutters and the soffit either the same color as the house or the same color as the fascia. The sandy accent color is nice, though. If you don't mind the gutter being more noticeable (or change them to match the fascia color), you could paint the fascia Ponytail and the soffit Navajo Red....See MoreHelp me choose an exterior paint color scheme!
Comments (4)Here are three more pictures--taken from a different angle. I also included a close up of the brick trim, and also a shot of the front door. Thanks! The house faces north--which is why I thought a warm gray might be better--I definitely don't want blue or red tones....See MoreMeyer Design
