Actually, Gorey wrote and illustrated many bizarre books, and his home is a museum on Cape Cod, I believe. I got Clare one of his books for Christmas a couple of years ago. It was about these strange children, and I think it was written in verse. It was called The Gashlycrumb Tinies. I talked to Clare a bit about your poems and book. She said getting them self published by Amazon's publishing company is easy. Then I forgot to get her to write down the details. But I think if you go on Amazon's website and hunt around, you'll find info on self publishing. I've seen the info many times. Clare was interested in the illustration idea, and I want to talk to her more about it. She's deep in a job right now, illustrating software on teaching children to read, and the publisher/editor who hired Clare keeps making the work more elaborate and changing things. Whoa! Elina has no fragrance that I can tell. Prolific though and a wonderful cut rose with Veteran's Honor. VH does not repeat as quickly for me. I get three to four flushes per growing season on it. However, it is my longest lasting cut rose and gorgeous with Elina. Double Delight is a tried and true performer. Beautiful rose, wonderful fragrance. A must have. Sharifa Asma is a beautiful, fragrant rose, but it is not a good cutting rose whatsoever and does not rebloom quickly for me, at least. Such is the case with Austin Roses. My Tiffany is not a good cut rose. The bloom fade and fall within one day for me. I much prefer Secret and Pope John Paul II. In fact, I want to find another pink that will last in the vase. Suggestions? Good luck, CJ

look at some of the ideas on this posting linked below from a while back. i don't recall if it was mentioned but dianthus is very fragrant (spicy) and some cultivars are tall enough to use as cut flowers. your best bet for long bloom season might be summer annuals. zinnias come to mind. they are not fragrant but will bloom all summer and make long-lasting cut flowers in many colors. also, roses are good for cutting but some are disease prone in humid climates. gardenias are an old standby in the south. intensely fragranct flowers on an evergreen shrub. they prefer afternoon shade in the hot, humid southeast.
