Smelling gas on oven after part replacement

Beth Rau

I replaced the electric oven igniter on my oven and it worked, but now the oven doesn't heat up as fast and I smell lots of gas. The last time I used it there was boom sound while I was preheating and I haven't tried using it since. Could I have gotten the wrong part? It looks the exact same. There were two wires coming from the igniter to two wires in the back of the oven. It wasn't clear if it mattered which wire went to which. Should I try switching them? Or do I get a new oven igniter? I thought it was a pretty standard part but maybe I grabbed the wrong one? Thank you for any insight you can give.

This is the one I got:
