PICS! Help me paint Master Bedroom! Green??
Comments (8)I love greens, but with the red so hot in the bedding, I am not sure I would want green. The bedding is very pretty, by the way! I know this is going to seem bizarre, but have you considered an aqua, as we seem to see in the center of the pointy leaves in the closeup of the bedding? I think it might cool down the room, and would certainly show off the dark furniture as well. I think it would work with the Whole Wheat, tho I am kind of puzzled about the issue of working with it. At different times of the day, from different angles, in different light, those colors will never look the same, and at times will perhaps seem more suited than at others. But no one that I can think of would stand in the hallway and expect the bedroom to flow with a public space. That is part of the delight of bedrooms and baths - places to choose color and decor different from the public spaces, that are more personal and perhaps a little more daring. I think your bed looks pretty, but I would try to find a place to store your sleeping pillows during the day when the bed is made - they don't go with the look of the finished bed, and kind of spoil the view from the side. Maybe you can tuck them on the floor of the closet? Also wondering if the valances on the windows are on a separate rod, so that you could raise the valances up higher to open the window space and take the eye up above the top of the bedposts....See MoreGreen bedroom (again)
Comments (10)Thanks for all your comments! This is definitely a strong color and the reaction among the 10-15 Realtors & stagers who came through the house in the past year was as mixed as the responses here. One stager said to keep the paint because this is the last room anyone is going to see when they tour the house (at the end of a long hallway) and buyers will have fallen in love with the house long before they get there. The other colors in the house are much more subtle. Actually now that I think of it, it was only the Realtors who wanted the color changed; all 4 stagers who came through to bid on the staging work said to keep it as is. Having toured dozens of houses in my town in the past 3 years, I'm totally bored with over-staged houses and their neutral wall colors and furnishings, plus the inevitable pop of red accents. But that's probably just me. It's amazing how a photo highlights certain characteristics - the intensity of the paint, and the pink tone of the dresser which I don't see at all in real life. live_wire_oak - I'll see what my painter says about a whitewash when he's here next week. sashasmommy thanks for your comments :) dianalo thanks for weighing in as an agent and for your hopes for a quick offer :) kmcg8 - I agree about the wood trim, looks very 80s. I'll talk to my painter about that. The stager hasn't actually done anything yet in the room, other than give her opinion on the paint. I sewed all the bedding, made the "art" from fabric, and decluttered. sherrmann and tuesday, thanks for your comments :)...See MoreSage Green or Grey Walls in Bedroom
Comments (9)Pic of the master bedroom in our house from when we first toured it as prospective buyers. The windows, to the left, face north/northeast. This was a cloudy day in the dead of winter. Note how bright it is (pretty sure the ceiling light was not on). I really don't think sage would be too dark - it's absolutely not too dark in our bedroom. I like cooler colors in the bedroom, but I would think straight gray would be a bit too... sullen. Previous owner made several terrible color choices throughout this house, but this was not one of them. We will be repainting all the rooms eventually (even in the rooms with good colors, the paint job itself is atrocious), and I dunno, we might actually keep the sage. Was also thinking maybe going a bit bluer....See Moreneed green wall paint suggestion for teen bedroom
Comments (6)I also think BM Come Sail Away would be a really nice choice for the walls given the bedding, bed frame etc. A jewel tone green on the ceiling might be an interesting and up to date pop of the green she’s is wanting!...See MoreRelated Professionals
