1 by1 glass tile as a border on a bathroom floor?
Comments (5)Thanks so much for the all of the advice and positive feedback thus far. Here is the garden web link with a picture of sandn's beautiful master bathroom in her victorian home. http://ths.gardenweb.com/forums/load/bath/msg011337514923.html She also has a blog where she discusses the tile she is using and does say that the glass insert is slightly raised which I am willing to deal with. Comments (3)I am not a designer by any means, but what helped me narrow in on what to use (and not use) was to decide on what "theme" or general look I had in mind, then look at photos/pics of bathrooms in that "theme", then from there started to zero in on the possibilities. Otherwise I would still be trying to decide. I came up with my own look, but it really helped to have a goal. I would use pattern or color or tile type, then created my own mix. In terms of one wall or partial walls, the rule is there are no rules. You can create anything you desire. My biggest challenge was finding photos to inspire me! In my active master bath reno, 2 walls will be to the ceiling, and 2 will be partial, and that was specifically what I wanted to create. I was inspired by the idea of beautiful rooms with an exposed brick wall- kind of like "one tiled wall"....See MoreIs it okay to match kitchen and bathroom floors?
Comments (8)Personally I crave balance and harmony in my home. I don't want everything the same throughout my home, but I want something that ties each room to the adjoing rooms and repeated elements throughout the home. I think using the same flooring in the kitchen and master bath will add harmony to your home....See MoreIs it okay to do a different tile in master bathroom?
Comments (14)Because it looks bad and honestly I don’t like the mix of the huge format marble look and the wood tiles mixed in a small space. Those huge format tiles needa tile setter that has worked with them a lot they are a huge issue to lay properly and you better insist on seeing their work in real life before beginning .Also those huge tiles would not IMO would not work in a bathroom they are meant to be used in large spaces.. To answer your question your master bath and bedroom should be cohesive in design and that can be quite different from the rest of the house too....See Moredarbuka
