Comments (10)Lavender - for roses, try checking out Pickering Nurseries which is located here in Ontario. I don't mean to push their products but it's for your information only. The site shows what kinds of roses can withstand cold winters. Remember that some roses are grafted so they can endure our deep freezes. Herbs: for certain, Thyme, sage, parsley. of course, Lavender and rosemary. A bouquet garnee (spelling) is a contrast of thyme, parsley and bay. Although bays will not survive our winters, I grew one in a pot which now towers over me. It's a perfect indoor plant and can be brought out in early summer when the weather permits. I've seen olive trees but have no experience trying them out as indoor plants. Also, I've seen fig trees here which are a mainstay in Italian gardens. However again I've no experience with them as indoor plants....See More"Warm" Mediterranean white paint color for interior?
Comments (34)I actually chose Navajo White for my office because it's not as yellow as others. the undertones are more on the peachy end of the spectrum. but I suppose in your space, it reads as too yellow! Another soft white I like in that category is Sherwin Williams Paper Kraft. it's even peachier than Navajo - but very subtle. Edit: just realized this is an old post but I'll leave my comment up anyway....See MoreDoes this kitchen look dated? If yes, how can it be modernized?
Comments (14)Rita - trying to find panels to fit that older fridge would be a big problem but not the entire problem. It's that the fridge's trim and dispenser show in a way that isn't done any more and hasn't been for about a decade. There is no point to incurring the sizable expense of replacing panelling on that fridge with a different panelling if a modernized appearance is the objective per this thread's title. If the OP's budget can afford it, the best solution for the fridge is to replace it with a stainless one which is a neutral. Either donate the old fridge or sell it on Craig's List though it won't sell for much, but someone could use it. If that is out of the budget, then the OP should concentrate effort on the lighting and backsplash. Laura Barnes - espresso cabinets had a brief period of popularity which is over - this was also mentioned on your other thread. If the OP stained the cabinets to espresso as you suggested (which would be difficult if not impossible to do well) the 2002 cabinetry would be replaced with 2012 cabinetry....See MoreModernize dated kitchen in townhome - please help!
Comments (61)Hmm, the island is an option. I have a toddler just waiting to get his hands on the buttons or anything he can reach so I’ll probably do a set of cabinets on the opposite wall for micro and some space for appliances. it will be a big project but I can’t think of anything else....See MoreRelated Professionals
