What flowe(and colors) do you think would look good on my porch?
Comments (3)Oh, you could do so many things. If it's not exposed to harsh, drying conditions, you could do azaleas, which are beautiful both in bloom and out of bloom. I would do roses, I think, if you have the sunlight. Fragrant roses that bloom nearly all season. They require some effort on your part, but seeing their beauty and catching the heady scent of fragrant rose blossoms as you walk in the door is a joy. And those pots aren't too big for them. This is a picture of a David Austin rose (David Austin roses are beautiful and often fragrant): This post was edited by lelia on Wed, May 15, 13 at 12:10...See MoreWhat color shutters look good with a cream colored house?
Comments (7)What color is the roof and can you post a picture? Cream is fairly neutral unless there is a lot of yellow in it. Anything from white to black. I wouldn't t care for black but a lot of people would love it. You could also use an almost black color for it to be less stark looking. Since you have a red cedar deck maybe a reddish brown or deep red tone that incorporates the coloring of that feature. The deck material is on the same side of the house as the shutters? They are visible together? I would suggest looking at lots of pictures online for "cream house" to better see what your own personal preferences are. Comments (2)I think you need to at least post a sample of the green. I am not a lover of olive green but maybe what you are planning will be good. Do you have red tile roof ? You might want to think about green and that roof it can conjure Christmas quickly....See MoreHome exterior refresh...looking for a good idea or my sanity.
Comments (2)I think your idea of replacing all the non log surfaces with hardi is good. I would use a very dark brown like Sherwin Williams 'black fox' on all the painted elements (including window trim and all the deck components except the deck itself) and then your front door and logs have a little contrast...See MoreDenise
