Countertop fabricator cut faucet hole too close to sink rim!

The countertop fabricator cut the hole in my quartz countertop too close to the sink. Now I can't install the faucet because there isn't enough space to screw on the compression washer underneath that holds the faucet in place. See photo. From the top everything looks fine, but he didn't take into account the width of the sink rim underneath that extends 1.5 inches beyond. In fact, I think he actually chipped the rim of the sink when he drilled the faucet hole. The photo is the view from underneath where I am holding the compression washer next to the faucet and sink. The fabricator is supposed to come out today to take a look. What can be done?
