decor ideas for this living room/entrance way

hello, we're looking for decor ideas/feedback. A few ideas we currently had are:

-one long floating shelf above the couch between the lamps, or 2-3 shelves at different elevations. probably a natural wood colour. probably fill the shelves with white and black decor, and some small plants

-large abstract painting above the couch on the opposite wall. However we're unsure of what colours to use

-large circular mirror above accent table. There is already a large floor mirror straight across from this table, would that be too many mirrors? It is a big room/area...

some type of tall decor on the ledge near the stairs, maybe a plant?

-we definitely want to replace the tables in the living room when our budget allows for it.

Before adding art to the walls you might want to finish getting your furniture. It seems that you especially need tables/lamps. Overhead fixtures are the worst for creating harshness and making everything and everyone look bad. Are you adding chairs? Have you considered a more colorful rug? Once these things have been determined it is time to think of art, You should not just go out and buy stuff for the walls, Take it slowly and wait till you see things that you love or have meaning. The decor can be things other than " pictures". It can be plates, baskets, funky objects, wreaths, etc.

Gabriella, a history of your comments shows that you're mostly interested in promoting the replica MCM chairs and sideboards sold at a NYC furniture store. You wouldn't happen to work there or own the store, or be friends or partners (personally or professionally) with someone who is, would you? Also, there have been more than a dozen BBB complaints in the past three years about the store you've been recommending, which I would find problematic if I were looking to buy something there. If you're trying to do native advertising/produce placement, you have to be less clunky and obvious about it. For example, not suggesting MCM furniture when the OP states a preference for farmhouse style.

My favorite is Mid-Century Modern as well! But not what the bf wants. When I think of western, farmhouse, cabin, rustic comes to mind. His dad was a professional bull rider and he wants pictures of cows/cowboys, outdoors. But he doesn't want Native American print (I had to coerce him in getting the rug). Everything could be reclaimed barn wood if he had it his way, I just want more color and textures to break it all up. I'm even down for an eclectic mix of items as long as it blends.....but is that even possible?
