Question about taking cuttings from a weeping cherry

I’d like to attempt to propagate some weeping cherries this year by taking some cuttings. I plan on taking cuttings off my tree in the front yard, however that tree has been rubbed by deer twice, 2 falls in a row. But it came back just fine this year and bloomed better than last year. Also there is a dying prunus mume about 20 ft from where the cherry is. The prunus mume has been suffering from a fungal disease where tips of branches turn and brown and crisp. Also early leaf drop. So I don’t know if that tree likely infected my weeping cherry as well. I did notice a few branches of the weeping cherry where the tip browned and crisped but not as prevalent. If I take cuttings off a healthy branch, will the rooted cutting still be healthy?
