Bathroom wall color to make shower look more white?
Comments (2)To make something that has yellowish undertones look white, you want something with no blue in it. Blues or grays will make it look much more yellow. You want something pretty dark first of all, and with a lot of yellow in it. A dark gold, a or terra cotta, or a green with a lot of yellow in it will fool the eye into seeing the surround as WHITE instead of yellow-offwhite. Look at this Benjamin Moore color, Barely Yellow. See how Blue Porcelain makes it look even yellower? But Benjamin Moore Baby Fern or Rich Chestnut makes it look almost white....See MoreMaking layout for master closet and bathroom more space efficient
Comments (14)I agree with what's already been said. Your layout makes sense because the tub and shower are about the same depth; thus, placing them on the same wall makes sense. The vanity is more shallow, so obviously it belongs on the other wall. Within the confines of this space, which is basic but serviceable, I think this is what you can do: - Scootching the tub and shower together /losing that empty space between them is a given. - I would rather have one sink and more storage. - If you're willing to go with a tub-shower combination and to downsize the vanity, you could eek out another couple feet for each closet. - Could you carve out another bit of closet elsewhere in the bedroom? - I would not go with a pocket door. They're ideal for spots where the door stays open 90% of the time -- like a laundry room or a pantry -- but a bathroom door is opened /closed too many times. Add in humidity, and you're going to have to repair /replace that pocket door sooner rather than later. - Can you have a window in the bathroom? Natural light always makes things nicer....See MoreHow can I make this bathroom less brown?
Comments (13)"The window in the shower also needs to be waterproofed..." Huge red flag, The shower/bath combo should never have been installed without that window already having been waterproofed. The waterproofing of the window is done behind the tile. It is literally impossible to waterproof the window at this stage, but even installing a vinyl window and minimizing the risk of leaks in this case would be a very complex job requiring a certain skill set. If there is evidence of leakage, you are looking at gutting the enclosure to fix it, which would certainly fix the brown issue....See MoreHow could I make my bathroom look better?
Comments (66)My first choice on the location of the caddy around the hallway's sink is behind the faucet above the backsplash (first picture). If you need to place high items in it then maybe you should place it lower (like first picture 2nd row). The reason why I don't like it on the side is because it is a narrow area and your arms and hands will always hit the caddy. As for the caddy,in the shower, it really is not a decorative element. Just think of it as functional. You can keep your shower curtain closed when it is dry. The only comment I have on the location that high is that soap scrum tends to accumulate on those wires. How easy will it be for you to clean it?...See Morenotnyc
