Hello. I like the idea of banquette seating but what about the vent in the floor? Maybe one of those vent hoods (?) that would direct the heat/cool toward the room and not upwards like it is now. Plus you could have built-in storage inside the seating as well. And a tulip table would be wonderful, too. Not sure you would really want a rug because of spills and the space isn’t that big anyway, perhaps a tripping hazard when walking around, idk. Might be easier to be able to move the table out when family members need to sit down, too. I have a whole idea book full of banquette seating, it’s locked unfortunately, so I’ll add a few in my next comment. Btw, I’m not a fan of the Audrey Hepburn pic, it’s a bit too large. ~D

Thank you unwanted advice (that name is fantastic)!! I was thinking about a circular rug?? Thinking that under the circular table would somehow carve out its own space?? Also ,That is a great ideabook on banquets

Thanks, I’m glad you could take a look at the ideabook. Make sure you look at other inspirational photos here on Houzz as well. It can be a rabbit hole so limit yourself. LOL I do think a rug would look pretty but just thinking about spills and foot traffic would be enough to turn me off to that idea however it’s your choice not mine that counts. Hopefully others can chime in here and give you more ideas as well.

I do see where there’s a bit of wall space towards your kitchen counters and you might be able to run the banquette towards there to give more seating space.
