Yes, the wall color is BM Wilmington Tan. always - yes, the spot appeared to move, but when my hubby took it back to the store, it was not easy to see at all in the store. Fortunately, the store took it back anyway, and they will be sending a new rug in the next 10 days. I hope the new rug doesn't have this problem. hilltop - thanks - you just confirmed what we have been thinking. Let's see what happens when the new rug arrives.

Sorry for adding more pictures, but the thought finally came to me that the reason the room wasn't satisfying me is because there was no color coherence. I made a great effort to eliminate cool colors with the exception of the blue and white lamp as a small touch and the painting of the duck. Everything else, even the books on the table, I tried to keep in a warm tone and I'm very happy with the result. The first pic is just to show how wide the entrance area really is. I wonder if any of you are as sick of this project as I am, but I'm so happy that I finally had this "ah ha" moment which makes me feel that the room is more pulled together now and makes more sense.

Home Interiors & Jodie White, Sorry guys. I'm new to this. Obviously, i need to create an Ideabook! I tend to go more towards muted brown, red, yellow/gold, rust colors (in past), but open to other somewhat neutral palettes. I actually love the console, but was considering an antique cream color (if I could make that work?). My tastes tend to be traditional, rustic, a little farmhouse (pottery barn, restoration hardware, ballard designs) but with so many current needs, all those in a TIGHT budget! Aktillery9, i do like all of those looks. My husband did just tell me, due to wiring, there is chance we may not be able to mount on flat wall as i hoped, so i may be forced to go back to corner console again. :( When I get a chance, I'll post some of my fav looks.

Yes, the chairs and table on the left are not in the room anymore. Those were from before I had gotten the bar. That room is new and I have just been ordering things to try them out and then returning. I do like the bar but thats really the only thing that I am tied to. I have no rug in there now and am looking for suggestions. I am as far from a designer as you can get. I do not have a good eye for these things, but love reading all the advice here. Such great ideas. Thanks!
