Solleron Ikea- yea or nay?
Comments (7)Depends on your Zone I'm guessing. Nothing down here in Southern Florida lasts for more than a couple of years with the heat and the sun. And if you are in a northern climate be prepared to store everything to prevent freezing. I don't see any type of warranty with this item. Care instructions The best way to extend the life of your outdoor furniture is by cleaning it regularly and not leaving it outdoors unprotected more than necessary. Clean: Use a mild soapy solution. Maintenance: Require no maintenance. Storing: If possible, store in a cool dry place indoors. If the furniture is stored outside, cover it with a waterproof cover. After a rain or snowfall, wipe off excess water or snow from flat surfaces. Allow air to circulate to avoid condensation....See MoreGoodman 16 seer A/C, yea or nay?
Comments (7)a few years back Goodman was sold to a Japanese firm and they invested in a huge manufacturing plant not too far from Austin Air (Waller County, TX); think maybe three years ago. Recent reviews might be more accurate. yeah Daikin is the parent company. The new plant was like 400 million investment. It's like any other brand, occasionally there are installs gone wrong posted to this board from an assortment of different brands. Choosing one brand over another doesn't do much if the company you choose doesn't know what they are doing. I've seen at least 50 shades of this over my 26 year career in HVAC. (nothing new) So a builder starts using Trane / Lennox / Carrier and you think problems magically disappear because of the brand chosen? Nope, doesn't work like that. Not in my world. (repair, modify, replace, update etc.) Now with the new phase out of R410a in my honest opinion this is check mate move in favor of me. Because people erroneously think that a 'brand' is some how going to save them. From future problems... now comes a new phaseout. That system they bought only a few years ago is now obsolete? Yeah I can hear the blood curdling screams already. All I can say is: somebody voted for it. But because I am a repair man first... I can fix it, for a fee of course. The other choice? Rip it all out and replace it. (options are few, when coolant needed to operate it gets banned for one reason or another.) It's like the case of choosing a drop in to replace R22. (It's not really a drop in, in terms of just dropping it in... but people don't read to understand, they read to what they want to hear.) So if these replacement refrigerants for R22 are so good, why none of them were chosen? It was smart for me to not go down that path. All of them will likely be banned along with R22... because of GWP (global warming potential). Pretty much no one is talking about this now... less than 2 years away. Yeah it's going to be a big eye opener pretty quick. How did all of this come about? From what I can see, good ole California is banning the use of R410a in air conditioning (new construction) starting in 2023. Manufacturer's aren't going to make another tier of equipment just for California as that would be too costly. It appears what is good for California is good for the rest of the nation.... yeah it's gonna be fun kiddo's....See MoreHoya Ban Ngong Ngoy, yea or nay?
