Off white or white subway tiles with Dove White Cabinets?
Comments (1)Since our kitchen is black & white, we went with white. Our cabinets are BM Gardenia, a warmer white than yours. Here's a shot or two. You need to figure out how much white you want in your new kitchen. Dove White is pretty bright, as is white subway tile. While I'd be good with that, some may find it too bright. You may be best served by picking up a dozen of each color tile and making a mock-up....See MoreTextured Wallpaper over kitchen tile reno - How To?
Comments (17)@cpartist I can't remove the tile, one, because I dont want to, two, I'm not skilled in doing that and don't want to mess up the wall and I also don't want to know what's behind the tile. I'm trying to make the wall look better without actually restructuring it. I wanted to cover the tile because I saw a lot of kitchens with the beadboard wallpaper and i thought it would be an inexpensive way to redo the walls. Also, there is one wall that does not have the tile on it. What can I do to "redo" the white tile to make it look new?...See MoreNeed help after grouting tile...Grout color covered white tile...
Comments (27)Yvette Im sorry your upset, It does look lighter in todays photos to me. You have very poor photo quality and in truth you are comparing a Showroom floor with white marble or glass contrast relfecting and a complete different lighting schematic to your tub alcove. There is some solice in lighting. This is repeated on these forums time and again. Stone itself comes in dye lots and VERIES drastically. Stone wicks moisture, from thinset substrate and grout as it cures it gets darker before it lightens. Some thinsets can take 30 days to fully cure, some portland grouts do normalize over 7-10+ days. and there is a dozen things that can go wrong with hand mixed and installed grout. I cannot see close enough the details of your install but I can tell you I have had to watch sales people at tile shops like a hawk in that they are usually not a person to take advise from. Can you be 100% certain they sold you the proper color/brand or did they sell you something similar to sell you something. ? You should have more recourse if you Payed a tile professional to source and purchase the materials themselves grout included and if you have a contract and stayed hands off. One thing homeonwers dont consider when they get involved with these things is the importance of putting all the liability in the contractors hands to afford recourse. People that do the shopping finding deals choosing materials, and then hiring labor have little to no recourse so i hope thats not you.. I suggest further patience and see how it lightens, play with lighting and start to focus on other aspects of your room.....See MoreWhite Cloe tile with bright white cabinets & white quartz counters?
Comments (13)As others suggested, waiting until the other components are in place is very smart. Cloe is generally available, so I wouldn’t worry too much about it being unavailable and causing a delay. The variation of Cloe is what makes it so friendly in terms of balancing cool and warm. I’ve seen it look beautiful in warmer kitchens as well as cooler ones. We used the 5” square Cloe tiles set in a staggered pattern for our backsplash. Our cabinets are SW Extra White and the countertops are MSI Blanca Statuarietto, which has pale gray and pale tan subtle veining. The wall color is Snowbound. Despite being pretty much white on white on white on white, I feel it’s not sterile at all. In adding warm wood accessories and some pottery, towels, plants, etc it has enough “life” for me without being too cluttered. Pics are below so you can see how it plays in our space. Last shot is a close up of the counters. We plan to increase the brightness of our lighting. Best of luck with your new kitchen!...See MoreRelated Professionals
