Comments (13)Love what you/DH have done with the entertainment center. It's by far the nicest home crafted piece I've seen. The barn tin is a perfect touch! I also love the pieces in your room -- lots of interesting pieces and those candlesticks are JUST what I've been looking for on my mantle. I agree with decorpas that you may want to consider rearranging the furniture to provide a more cozy space in front of the fireplace and tv. Perhaps as simple as swapping the sofa and chairs. You have done a good job of adding visual interest higher up on the walls-- the higher mantle and beams demand interest higher up. The only thing I struggle with is that it leaves you with an uncomfortable spot between the fireplace and the mantle.. I am not sure what yuo can do there. Perhaps an interesting iron piece? I don't think it needs to be anything too big or heavy-- just a touch of visual interest. Again.. great job on the entertainment center. I just love it....See MoreNeed ideas on design lay out (brick color, paint, furniture,2 placeTV)

What furniture are you bringing into the space? The built-ins seem to be in a bit of an odd spot. The most logical place for the t.v. seems to be to the left of the fireplace. You could wall mount it with a console underneath. Then add two chairs, facing the wall the built-ins are on, and a sofa facing the fireplace and t.v. You'll want an area rug for comfort and to ground the seating area. You could add another chair to the right of the fireplace with a floor lamp to make a cozy reading spot by the built-ins. Add books and decor but don't forget to leave some empty space on the shelves. Add a great piece of art over the mantle. I would add a long rod with curtains across the wall with the windows and double door for privacy at night, along with some woven wood shades for the windows. That back corner could be a good place for a game table with a couple of chairs. Is there room for an entry table before you pass through the columns?...See MoreI need Ideas for Fireplace/TV wall
Comments (4)The most important thing to think about at this stage is where you want the visual focus of the room. If there is nothing else as the focal point, and you do not plan to install a TV, then making this stand out as a prominent feature (with mantel and paint or wallpaper for texture or adding a great piece of wall art) is great. Just keep in mind that electrical code may require that the outlet maintain a cover plate for safety. Please make sure whoever does this work for you knows the local codes and keeps your home safe; you can always "hide" the plate with accessories, which we have done on many jobs....See MoreNeed creative shelf building ideas for tv wall
Comments (3)Call an electrician or audio guy. Get an IR repeater . It will allow the boxes to be ANYWHERE. even the basement or a closet. Or wait for more gambling money, and buy a media cabinet The first suggestion means NO wires showing. https://thehometheaterdiy.com/ir-repeater-kits-explained/...See Morefunctionthenlook
