Help deciding on holes in granite: Soap Dispenser/Air Switch?
Comments (4)My kitchen does not need to pass inspection so I was also thinking I would skip the air gap. That would then be 4 things placed at the sink. What would be a good placement for those? It won't be symmetrical since the faucet will be centered. So, where should the soap dispenser, filter faucet and air switch go? What would look the best? Thanks again!...See MoreAir switch, faucet, SD, sprayer placement?
Comments (2)The air switch isn't really an issue. They're so low profile that they will fit almost anywhere and not contribute all that much to the "busy" look. How wide is your sink? You might also check the Finished Kitchens Blog (FKB) for kitchen sinks w/a similar setup to yours. Go to the FKB (http://finishedkitchens.blogspot.com/) Click on the "FKB Categories" link on the right navigation panel Scroll down until you come to the "Special Features" section (at the end). Look for the "Apron Sink" category & click on it You will be presented with a list of the kitchens in the FKB that have apron sinks (I just checked, there are 60 of them) To look at a kitchen, click on the kitchen owner's name (e.g., jeanar). Comments (10)I have always had soap dispensers as I wash my hands many many times while preparing food and would not have a kitchen without one. Much is written about cleaning hands and surfaces often to avoid cross contamination and food borne illness. Our soap dispenser at our 30" sink is placed 10" left of the faucet, mostly because I am right-handed. If my hands are dirty from handling meat or chicken, I place my left hand under the dispenser and press the pump down with my right wrist. I always wipe the faucet and soap dispenser down when I clean the sink. I do not want to handle a bottle of soap with dirty hands nor do I want to keep it on the counter....See MoreHelp please re: Faucet location both sinks/ R/O faucet/ Air Switch
Comments (7)I think I'm going to put my air switch to the right corner on my main sink. I'm thinking that way I might place a small trivet or decorative soap dish between the faucet and air switch to hold my soap bottle (I don't think I'm going to use a built-in soap dispenser either as I've had trouble on all three I've ever owned.) I'm hoping that means less gunk can build up around the air switch as well. On my island, I'm considering not having an air switch but just a regular switch under the sink. I've had those in the past and it'll help keep the island less cluttered. I've got to order my sinks soon 😬...See MoreShannon_WI
