Comments (23)Very pretty blue. Looks to me like MasterTile Venetian series in my catalog, which (I think) is the Bellagio series online, in Indigo. It even looks like something I might want. Must be that the sample my designer had was seriously off-color or looks more "stone" in real life than I was wanting. Not sure why that tile's not in my lineup....See MoreIpe 6x6 post
Comments (8)Your deck was designed to support X amount of live load & Y amount of dead load. Typical deck live loads are 40 to 60 pounds per sq ft (if you are in a snow area that range might be more) & typical deck dead loads are in the 10 to 20 psf. With the Pergola being constructed out of IPE the weight of your lumber will be at least a couple hundred pounds so you will have greatly exceeded the dead load rating of this deck, given it is anywhere close to typical construction. So, bottom line, as John stated you need a continuous connection from this IPE post down to the foundation....See MoreCurb appeal for 1960's L-shaped Ranch
Comments (12)Thank you Dig Doug and Yardvaark! We typically plant impatiens in the window boxes and water daily a.m. and p.m. Not to take advantage of your skills but I would welcome ideas for improving the back side of the house too. I should have posted a better picture and can later today if you want. There is a large picture window to the right of the screen porch and a square brick patio to the left with a brick sidewalk along the garage wall to the driveway. Straight lines, nothing fancy. The large bush on the right side of screen porch is a Japanese lilac. I know it is large but it provides privacy which we like. Thanks again!...See MoreAdvice on L-shaped pergola in corner
Comments (2)https://www.houzz.com/discussions/pergola-attached-to-roof-dsvw-vd~5578257?n=6 Robin, it is much easier if all questions about the same issue are in the same place. So I would delete this post and add the question and photos onto the previous thread as an added comment. It is easy to do it by highlighting what you wrote and then copying and pasting into the previous thread and then editing out any repition before posting. I will try to keep an eye out and add a comment and perhaps a photo if I can find one of a pergola at my inlaws’ former home When you have moved this to the other thread....See MoreRelated Professionals
