Paint Design Dilemma Exterior

Seeking opinions on which color to paint home exterior

Which color do you think would be best on the exterior of this home?

i like the color that it is, but it desperately needs repainted. I believe I’ve narrowed it down to these three colors by Sherwin Williams.

I think the colors you have look a little too taupe, and the other one looks too rosy/lavender/gray. It's just a little blah looking.

may I offer a few other color combos?

I like the idea of a darker fascia (I know this is brick), but look at the gray/taupe tone paired w/the darker fascia color (right against the roof) The underside would be painted in the white or lighter tone

For example, Stone lion-stucco, Divine white trim and underside, Iron Ore (Or Urbane Bronze) for the fascia. (and if you can do the window trim w/it I'd do the darker there too)

Garage door. do a darker shade than the stucco, get some carriage hardware for the door, and new exterior lights. The white ones you have just don't work

That plaque on the side of the house w/the light, can that be removed?

Either of these lights would look better. get them in dark brass or ORB or even a copper

another example a few colors. I know this is more modern, but just look at the way the colors were used.

if you do yellow, I'd do black shutters and maybe a black door. I think the garage doors and other trim can stay white. The Philadelphia Cream looks really yellow on my screen, but surely different in person. I think the Nantucket grey would look nice with with maroon shutters.

HI, We will soon be painting our house and I am seeking advice on exterior paint colors. We have a colonial house with wood siding. Currently it is a sage color with cream trim. (I don't mind the sage color, but my husband doesn't care too much for it.) In our neighborhood, houses tend to be tan, yellow, blue, green, and grey. Our neighbors houses are dark blue, tan and yellow. Here are a couple of colors that caught my eye, but are open to all suggestions: Tan (Sherwin Williams Avenue Tan 7453 with white trim and Benjamin Moore Boston brick for front door.) Blue (Valspar™ 4006-4B Retro-colonial Blue with white trim and black or red door) Benjamin Moore Newburg Green (HC-158) Benjamin Moore Evening Dove 2128-30 Benjamin Moore Copley Gray HC-104 with white trim Benjamin Moore Cromwell Gray HC-103 with white trim Your input is greatly appreciated!

Thank you, everyone, for your comments! I guess we should remove the porch railing! Most of the aluminum storm windows are missing panes so I was planning to replace them with white vinyl when we paint. The windows are an uncommon size, though, so I'm a little worried about the cost. There are only a few original windows, but the "new" ones are from the 70s, so they're all old. All the windows are wood and painted white-- and they're ALL drafty and in need of re-glazing, which is why we need the storm windows! I'm adding a better photo of the front porch-- and the chickens. The color I picked for the front door is close to the color of the sky. sheepla-- is there also no hand rail on the steps of your porch? I'd love to see a photo!

Hi, those are some "interesting" colour and decor choices for sure. I like the idea of grey/white that you are planning and I think a dark colour would look great with those choices. One of my favourites is Benjamin Moore Wrought Iron. It is what I would call a soft black......more grey than black. Here are some photos of Wrought Iron used on exteriors: For trim and or contrast colours, these are the recommended coordinating colours from the BM site: I'd be tempted to find a cream that is a little less beige than this one - something closer to the trim colour in the photo above with the dark garage doors. Once you have your shingle colour you can decide about the colour of the chimney. You could go with the wrought iron colour on the chimney or you could choose a paint colour to match the shingle colour so it would disappear a bit into the roof. There are some folks who are on Houzz that are very good at photoshop and amending photos to show various colour choices.. Alternatively both BM and SW have paint visualizer tools so you can upload your pictures and play with colours until you find a look that pleases you.
