If I'm right they are very well made spindel legged and backed stools. If so then other than being wood I'd say there's no way to make them seem more mission style. Mission style is very straight or angled. If I'm wrong about Tell City then I agree, pix would really help.

Mags438 - Thanks for responding. I am concerned about the bulkiness the arm rests add as well. I haven't found any models that don't look bulky. Some of the ones I found just look "blah" as well. Attractiveness is subjective and I guess that is the biggest variable. It's quite tiring on the eyes to look through page after page. Someone on here had suggested a site called "Nebraska Furniture Mart." With the amount of choices available, that is the only streamlined site I have found that doesn't just allow you to narrow down your search to specifics, but does so accurately. Other sites allow you to pare down your choices but then the program will leave out items that clearly fit the requested criteria.

If you're needing to furnish the entire space, you're going to get overwhelmed if you try to do things piecemeal. The best idea is to take one space at a time and make a plan for it. If this is a great room open floor plan, I would start with the living area, move to the dining area, and do the bar stools last. Each area should coordinate with the other. You can get lots of great help but you need a direction first. Can you post pictures of the rest of the space?

I don't really think shiplap would give you much bang for the buck in this space. If it were mine, I'd focus on revamping the artwork on the walls, replacing the mirrors with something that holds personal meaning, and maybe doing something more dramatic with artwork where you have the map. Something that reminds you of favorite travels or places, perhaps? Enlarged personal photos or big original canvas paintings?
