What cabinets and flooring would look best?
Comments (0)We are remodeling the kitchen and I would love to have dark cherry cabinets, but we have golden oak window trim and baseboards throughout the house that we will not be replacing - we have a 4 foot window on one side of the kitchen. We are replacing the flooring which is maple and close in color to the oak. Would dark cherry cabinets work with the oak trim? What about the flooring? Should the floor match the trim? I really don't want to do the cabinets or flooring in oak. Thanks for your help!...See MoreLooking for site to pick floor, cabinet and wall colors
Comments (2)patty cakes, Thank you for the link that has some good advice. What I am looking for now, however, is a site that will allow me to plug in different colors in different places to see how they look together. The image on the screen changes as you enter different choices. The Armstrong website has a feature that lets you do this to some extent, but I can't capture quite the right image. I am sure that I found more than one website in the past, but I my current search is not getting me very far this time....See MoreWhat color cabinets would look good with tropic brown granite?
Comments (4)I think this is one of the times you just need to go down to the paint store and pick up a whole lot of color chips and audition them in your kitchen. Lighting is so different from place to place that it's just better to bring a bunch home and tape them up on the walls. Toss the ones that are clear misses and work your way down to a few. If you still can't decide, get a small can of possible colors and paint a largish piece of foam board or something and prop it against your cabinets to see how it might look. I'd try cream shades too....See MoreCan you use wood look tile with real wood cabinets? if so, what color?
Comments (12)Fake and real is a terrible combo. Just because others have made those big mistakes doesn’t not make them mistakes. If you insist on tile over wood that matches the rest of the house, then look at a natural slate in a charcoal color. Or possibly a gauged quartzite in a subtle versailles pattern. Or a plain large format porcelain that isn’t an obvious stone fake. Maybe something that echoes a subtle stained concrete....See More- 11 years ago
