Comments (13)If you love the canvas then use it..especially if it evokes happy, sunny feelings. I think I would consider changing out your pendant shades for some orange or blue glass globes. Bubble globes would be so cute. I might suggest not placing a table on the other wall. Too many tables. Play up your dining table with woven table runners and a simple table arrangement. Unless you use all your seating daily, you could scoot the dining bench on that short wall and table/chairs closer to the art wall. Good luck....See MoreArt Lighting Advice
Comments (8)ok let me really help you with this. use 4'' recessed low voltage cans. that take mr16 bulbs. these bulbs come in beam spreads from 10 degrees to 60 degrees. Use what I call a flop, rather than an eye ball, the flop can be more precisely angled at what it is lighting as . for the larger piece that is long you will want 2 cans to focus on that with two bulbs at tighter angles. the light will naturally spread as it gets further away from the source so this is why trying a couple beam spreads will help determine what works bes. https://noralighting.com/product/nl-470/ You do not want to over light, so sometimes this is trial and error with the bulbs. Now if for some reason you can not do recessed we are into using a rail system from tech lighting, with the same bulb i am talking about. Or if you want more options for the lighting. These use the same bulbs and can be moved around on the rail to get optimal placement. Also you can put the rail as far or close to the wall as you like since it has a remote power source. http://www.techlighting.com/Gallery...See Morewall art advice

Comments (19)Changing out the artwork will be a huge help in refreshing the rooms. There are a few more minor changes that can help transform the spaces. While the drapes may have been expensive, they look drab against the wall color and don't play well with the floor and sofa colors. There are relatively inexpensive replacements that can make a big difference and brighten the rooms. The trunk is too small by itself behind the sofa. You could try using it as a coffee table instead of the ottoman and add a longer storage bench behind the sofa. Painting the dining chairs black is an easy project and will create more contrast with the wall, as well as relate to other black elements like the fireplace glass and the trunk bands. I agree with the points about artwork overload - one way to soften the transition and not leave the dining space with bare walls is to use carved wood panels that provide texture and dimension. I also really like your choice of the water artwork because the large, light areas provide depth and don't just blend in with the walls. I would remove all the pink elements and sell or relocate your current artwork....See Morecawaps
