Nobody is commenting, so just few of mine...I do not grow Aloe vera, but have number of other aloes and many succulents.

Fastest way to "ruin" succulents is if potted in water-retaining soil. All succulents need good drainage. Usually (most often), soil many ppl use needs to be amended. Simplest and fastest way is to add lots of sifted perlite or pumice. Adding and mixing them in about 1:1 ratio is what many do.

Pups do not suffer if potted separately, or left with 'mama' plant - but it could get crowded if left there. What I see in your 2nd pic, are pups in what looks like dense soil (possibly water-retaining; same as main plant); they look buried too deep in the pot and also too deep in the soil. Adding more mix - approx. 1" below top of the pot) would elevate them and allow for better air circulation. Maybe it is just picture, but it looks like soil is covering too much of the stem. That could promote rotting too - IMO. Pot should drain well too - I am assuming it has drainage hole, but if the saucer is attached, drainage may not be that good.

From what I have seen, Aloe vera doesn't grow tall stem. I am not sure if it is etoilated, or different aloe (1st pic). It looks similar as climbing aloe does, but I am not sure since I don't grow either.

thank you so much for reply, Rina. I may try to re-pot the pups, but first I need to purchase perlite and then sift it (need to google this). I planted the pups with the soil higher since they were droopy so I was hoping the higher soil would help support them, keeping them vertical?

I trimmed the brown tips off the mama aloe plant. both pots have a hole (water drainage not that I ever water them enough to have draingage).

Yes, that is a mucky heavy peat soil, totally inappropriate for succulents.
You might want to look into an inorganic soil (like Al's Gritty Mix, which you can find many references to in the forums), Aloes do very well in that. I even had a dwarf aloe flower this winter in it, which had never ever happened in 20+ years of growing indoor aloes.

Your original plant seems to have bit different growth pattern than aloe veras that I have seen. It seems to have a stem and A.v. grows more as a rosette, without elongated central stem. IIRC, it is really stemless (or with very short stem) plant. But, as I said, I do not grow it so could be wrong. Google photos of Aloe vera and also Aloe ciliaris to compare and get idea of what I mean. Did it always grow similar way? It could be etiolated, but not that much.

Sift perlite using a kitchen sieve (I bought some just for this purpose at dollar store). Plastic will do just fine too:

Perlite could be quite dusty, so wearing mask helps. Or, using same sieve/strainer, rinse it well. Let it sit in it to drip off most water. You can use it after mixing it with C&S soil. Mix so it looks similar to this:

JMO, but I do not think sicking succulents too deep into soil helps, especially if it retains water longer. It could cause rotting. How were the roots of the pups? They will 'stand up' once they recover, that shouldn't take too long.
