Have you tried these DIY home improvements ?
Comments (50)Oh wow ! These are some great pictures and I really appreciate y'all posting them and taking the time to do so. I really love the door , but respect others opinions. :) I know the lighting needs changed too . I can't wait to get there again and really see it as our own ! I love iron so I'll probably find lighting that is black and iron. I love it in the garden too . It's my fav thing to shop for at antique stores! Gr8day , thank you for your encouragement ! We must have similar tastes. I love the 2nd and third fireplaces . I did look at tile at hd and lowes today and found a tile that mimics stacked stone that I may consider. Also the stair pics make my heart smile ! I just love them. Raven Cajun , that pic is exactly how I thougt it would turn out !' I know my inspiration pic was much bigger fireplace. This pic you posted is just perfect. Melsouth , thank you for your ideas! I am in tennesee , so yes these things are popular here. But beside being popular , they are things I really love. I believe there is a lot of psychology behind ones home choices too. I grew up in a trailer , for 19 years.. Didn't know any better of course , and my parents did the best they could ! Love them for it ! Now I am 30, buying my dream home and feel very blessed. I think I am attracted to these different things because of years of admiring other peoples homes. So even if other people have similar things , I am so proud to have them !! I don't feel the need to be keeping up with others . I hope it dosnt come across like that . I love beautiful staircases , and I think it's because when I went to friends homes as a child , I thought they were great ! We didn't have stairs . I'm sure there's a lot buried in our minds relating to our styles ! It would make for an interesting discussion , for sure! :)...See MoreGood/Bad Trilogy Fiberglass installers around GA ??
Comments (17)As my pool has been ordered and we are working towards the day it arrives, I was hoping you might have gotten some pictures taken of yours. I would love to see how it turned out. We are having to do a few additional things to my pool to help alleviate any possible ground water issues, including placing the pool a little further into my yard and raising it a little more than I originally thought, which will change my deck area a bit.... but, I would rather be safe than sorry in the end.... I look forward to pictures. Thanks. Edie...See MoreHave you tried JJ Virgin's food eliminations (or others)?
Comments (11)For the average person though, one who feels fine eating everything, exactly what am I going to be feeling if I give up these foods? If you feel fine, why bother? In other words, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. But I would say it's worth trying for anyone who doesn't feel as well as they would like to. Another thought, Ellen . . . I don't know how old you are, but many people seem to do just fine eating whatever, but then at some point don't tolerate certain foods as well as they used to. Their digestion gets quirky, they lack energy, and so on. My severe allergy to solanine (in all the nightshade vegetables and a few other things) didn't start until I was in my thirties, and has gotten progressively worse. Momrox, I have a tendency toward high cholesterol too, but have kept it in check by being very careful about saturated fats, plus eating oat bran. I've eaten oat bran (raw or cooked) every day for years. I just had my cholesterol checked, and it was 168. That's good for me. Now I have to do better with triglycerides, which are inching up. They're just borderline, though--nothing like the dangerously high numbers I had years ago, before I gave up sugar and lowered my carb intake. When I was stricter about carbs than I am now, my numbers were excellent. I'm sorry about your husband. I'm a widow too, and have to guard against mindless eating. It slips in.... I just came across this website with info on JJ Virgin's approach. I'm sure there are loads of other resources too....See MoreHave You Tried Any Product New to You and like or dislike?
Comments (53)Nature's Bounty (I think) Hair, Skin, and Nails supplement. I wore acrylic nails for about 25 years. When my lady passed, and the younger crowd started that new "short, thick, gluncky look", I gave up. That was at least 15 years ago. My nails never recovered. Wouldn't grow, would peel apart like layers of old parchment paper, were so thin and brittle ... my fine, thin, hair would not grow past my shoulder blades. I've been taking this about two months. My hair is/ was down to my butt (I got it cut tonight to mid-back - the gal could not stop talking about how silky, and full, my hair was! She had another stylist come over, and they just kept running their fingers through my hair. Husband asked me if I was purring!) My nails are fabulous. Strong and healthy! I have to trim them every weekend, and be careful rubbing my eyes, or scratching an itch, because they are so strong, and long, that I'm not used to them yet. On the flip side, I also have to soak my feet and give myself a pedi every week, because the toenails are getting just as long, and strong! LOL...See Moremodernfun
