Leather L sectional large gap between cushions

My husband did an incredble job removing a piece of the sectional and adding a portion of the chair recliner so we could have side-by-side recliners. I love it!!! Looks great...except there is a sizable triangular gap where arm rests had once been. a 12x12 pillow easily hides, but we have enough leater to create a pillow insert solution for purely appearance puposes. I am afraid it would look like a triangular leather pillow...odd. I think my choices may be to velcro a current toss pillow over area or expand each individual cousion and fill them out, then use product to hide the forward facing seams--is that even possible. We are quite handy, wondering if an upholstry genius would have an easy suggestion or some thoughts from this group on stopping while we are head. The cushions are attached, no zippers. Couch will likely outlive us, but more importantly, we are trying to reuse and reduce our finger print in the world. Plus we got rid of an extra chair with this project! Yeah!
