I live in a town with a Shaker Village which I've visited many times. My memory is that the dwelling areas didn't have electric lights, but that some or all of the work areas did. I have the same issue only I do not have a photo cell. I have lived here for 10 years and always just turned the outdoor lights on with the switch when I wanted the light on. There is no motion detector on the light. I turn the light on the other day and it only stays on for 10 seconds and then goes off. This has never happened before? The breaker does not go off so I do not think it would be a short?

LED, 2700K, 200 to 400 lumens (that's 25 W equivalent to 40 W equivalent). With as many lamps as you seem to have, I think 200/lumens per lamp would be adequate. Sydney's suggestion of a dusk-to-dawn sensor is a good one. There are lamps that come with this feature built-in, or you can get adapters that screw into the socket that have the photocell and control. separate from the lamp

I see mentions that the "shutters are too narrow for the windows". That's actually a style. They are decorative, and not designed to be functional. There are millions of houses in the US that have that style, many more than have shutters sized exactly to the windows. So, "too narrow shutters" are a matter of taste unless you're living in the 19th century, in which case, shutters that entirely cover the windows are de rigueur (they didn't have storm windows back then). On your house (adorable ranch!), it seems like the proportions of blank space to window space will work very well without the shutters. At least, according to my taste. There are many articles on Houzz about updating ranches and freshening them up.
