WANTED: African Milk Tree -- Euphorbia trigona
Comments (1)You might try a Google search worded something like: Euphorbia trigona, plant nurseries selling likely that should yield some results. PS: the sap of this plant is a known skin irritant, hope your Mom's OK w/ that. Gloves & goggles are a good idea when handling it!...See MoreJust wanted to share (Euphorbia Trigona 'African Milk Tree')
Comments (9)One of my all time favorites. I had a 3' killed in 1998's 28f cold. years later I bought a second that didn't seem to have the good color of the original..and I grew it in sun. To make a long story short...'Rubra' outdoors turns near black in bright shade..too much sun fades it and..even sunburns the trunk. I now have a near 4' double trunker with many branches, leafs, and nice dark color. And its survived 2007 and this Januarys cold with only light damage it grew out of. They seem indestructible as pot plants...can do well with much water too. Toss them some fertilizer in summer...just great plants....See MoreWhat should I do with my 9 foot African Milk Tree (Euphorbia trigona)
Comments (2)If this was my plant I would leave it alone it's beautiful :) it does need a bigger pot tho. Make sure you replant it in a fast draining soil. I love when these guys get huge! If you have the room I would let it grow. If you wanna prune your plant make sure to protect your skin and eyes. When propagating the plant put the cuttings under running cool water to stop the plant from oozing that toxic sap. Put the cuttings in a dark cool place to callous over. When they are calloused over you can plant. Good luck:)...See More'African Milk Tree' new leaves shrivelling up
Comments (12)Thank you so much for your fast replies, it is truly appreciated. Yes it has been repotted a few times throughout the past 3 years. I was actually planning on repotting it this weekend. I'm now curious to see if rootbound is the "problem", as it has been the dormant period, but maybe it's waking up now :-) I just thought it was odd that new leaves would start developing at the top and then half way grown they just curl up and die, and then new leaves started again and same thing happened, half way through they curled up and died... I also noticed today that some of the grown leaves have tiny tiny dry holes on them....See MoreEmily (5b)
