The Clopay Coachman collection looks very nice for your house. The garage is a lot of what you see (if this picture is an indication), so the aesthetic is important.

I didn't think to try the Clopay Coachman. I went through the design builder and I like the design (shown below), but it only comes in four colours :( I don't know that the "Sandtone" colour suits my house -- I thought the darker bronze colour (shown in the other styles) matches better.

I like the classic steel in the bronze colour with windows.

I like the Clopay Bronze colour the best so far, but I like the CLopay Coachman style (with the shaker doors). Unfortunately, I can't have both :( The contractor also installs Amarr and Garaga. On the Garaga website, I found the style and colour combinations below.

IMO those window inserts are all too fussy for your home. See if they offer something more simple

What color is your roof.....multi grays? If so try a door in the gray range but not black.

The roof is multi-gray (see the pic below). I've seen some pics with a gray garage door (like it is currently) and it just doesn't seem to sit right with the colour of the brick and the siding. Browns feel more "right" to me, but I'm a guy with no ability to co-ordinate colours :P My plan was to repaint the shingles to match the colour of my new door.

The “Canyon Ridge — Ultra-Grain Slate” is a composite overlay for a wood look, and it’s a dark greige colour 🙂 The front door is just white right now (with a white storm door). My shutters are very fake, and I would pull them off if it weren’t for the fact that my windows would probably look disproportionately small 🙁

Bryan, will you post a larger hi-res image of your house as it is now so we can see the color and detail? That may help with the recommendation. in terms of cost, Classic and Gallery are most affordable, then Coachman, and then the Canyon Ridge. The construction materials and level of detail increases as you change models, going from an insulated three layer stamped steel door to a five layer door with an insulated steel core full cladding and overlays.

I always see front forward doors like “mouths” and I think they are to be played down as much as possible. I searched this brand and it comes in white. I would consider white. Here are a couple. I prefer no windows but just giving you options.

Don’t focus on colors of the mock ups. But styles. I would keep it pretty simple but with some added hardware, could improve the look.

Now, if I had free hand, I would choose this color and paint front door and shutters deeper tone of same color. Would look really nice with your brick.

I like whatever color upthread that is close in color to the brick. With no contrasting trim. The ones with plain windows are nice.

I was going through pics of the various doors and the "Clopay Bronze" colour just seems to feel the best for me. I personally like the look of homes in my neighbourhood when the door is a bit darker than the brick. Given that I like the Clopay Bronze colour, here are the styles that I think I like the best. I would clad my garage door trim and paint my shutters a similar "Bronze" colour. Does anyone have any feedback on the options below (varying the style and window a little)? I feel like I'm leading towards the pictures with the ***

In terms of Clopay Styles, I really like the Canyon Ridge, but it doesn't come in many colours. If I went with the Canyon Ridge, "Slate" is probably the colour I like best. I'm not sure that I love the door enough to warrant the additional cost though (since this is likely one of the more expensive doors).

I think the only thing that bothers me is that the grids match the window grids, but because the windows are white and these aren’t, it feels a little disjointed.

I think the garage door should ...not ....dominate the home in the way these are...it should be a nice addition that is understated and blends with the feel of the home ....it should match the brick and the trim closely...so the eye can be drawn to the entry...and trim detail on the house....which is where the contrasting colors and interesting elements should be...as another poster pointed out the divided windows matching the ones on the house can be a nice detail that is not distracting ....but more interesting than contrasting panels ...or whole new shapes in windows that do not coordinate with any other features on the home

I agree with NO windows. I like the grey/blue/green? color that Flo posted on April 17th. No beige or brown.

On it's own, I like the colour htat Flo posted too, but it sounds like people are saying that my garage door should be more understated. Perhaps I could use Flo's colour for the front door and shutters?

Some people are saying that I shouldn't have windows, which might be optimal aestehtically, but I was hoping for the windows functionally. I spend a fair amount of time in the garage, and some natural light would be a nice change :)

For the garage door, the "Sandtone" colour seems to be the closest match to my brick. In isolation I'm not in love with the colour, but it could look better in person :-) Any thoughts on Sandtone? I could order some colour samples.

The picture about might look odd because the garage door trim is still contrasting (but I would have it clad with aluminum in a similar colour) something like this.

Sorry, none of the light colors work with your brick. I agree it is desirable to match brick color, but your brick looks like it has pink tones? You would be better off doing white and paint trim same color. Are you sure this is brand you must have?

The siding color looks like a good match to the brick...and the door style with the little sections of glass would also echo the rest of the windows...leaving a clean slate for shutter and door colors ...

Thanks everyone for your patience with me! I really don't have a knack for colours! It seems like people are pivoting towards a white garage door (and garage door trim) and then having colour in the front door and shutters.

FYI, here's a close-up of my brick. I'm not a huge fan of my brick colour (it does have a sandy-pink type colour in it) but it's what I have to work with :P

So if I go with white, how about some of the options below (assuming that the garage trim will be cladded in matching white aluminum)? Clopay has "Standard White" and "Glacier White (High Contrast)" but they both look identical in the simulator. In person, I'm sure that "Glacier White" is a more brilliant white, so "Standard White" is probably my best option.

Think big picture. I have used light color for garage door, dark gray on shutters and front door. Added larger exterior lighting in black. Painted front door dark brown/gray and added some pots and improved landscaping. 😊

I like the 4th one because it has a simpler horizontal detail..in line with the home....there is a fine line between making the garage door the focus and the front door front entry feeling like an after thought..

Not being sure about color from pics ..i would try to match the trim..as close as possible

Thanks for your creativity, it looks really nice! The front landscaping is also on my to-do list (i.e. concrete driveway, larger footpath, landscaping, etc.) but my garage door is a more immediate need because it's buckling and I don't want it to fail and fall on my car :S I plan to do the front landscaping either this year or next spring, but I have to deal with my rear landscaping first :P

It seems like a white garage door and match white garage door trim is probably my best bet. FYI, I noticed another house in a nearby neighbourhood (same model as mine and same brick/vinyl scheme) that has a beige door, but I think they painted it that colour (based on historical Google Streetview images).

I like coachman the best also...the vertical sections at the bottom keep the door from looking too wide and the simple horizontal divided windows at the top tie in perfectly with your divided windows...with the best color being as close a match to the trim as possible...the detail in general is most subtle if you do not do a contrasting dark color..again a fine balance between interesting door but not the whole focus of the curb appeal

Since you have an angled opening make sure it won’t cut off the view of the garage door windows. Your dealer can tell you. a new door is going to look fantastic!
