Split Stair Entry design/decor help!!

The entryway to our townhome has a split stair landing area which also faces our living room. The entry wall is just painted off white and needing some decor additions. Was thinking of painting the wall but not sure what color? Also adding wall decor - should I do pictures leading up the small stair case? Or just a large wall decor piece at the top of the
landing? Appreciate your help!!

Also attaching picture of new light fixture replacing what we have and rest of main level for design style.

Have you thought about wall paper on that wall you definately need a better light and IMO no Edison bulbs any hwere if you really care about colors you choose.You have some nice choices but then you cast a yellow light over it all. Change your bulbs to LEDs in 4000K before doing anything moore you will be surprised how much better everything looks at night.

Would you husband be opposed to a tandem garage? With a good architect and builder and of course $$$ you could build on and have a side facing garage. The garage would still fit 4 cars, but just tandem through the new garage into the old garage. They can fill in the current garage door and make it look like it is part of the house and not just a filled in garage door. Remove the old driveway and re-landscape. And your house would not look like all garage.

The walls should stay clear - no shelving or anything that sticks out. Painting a dark accent wall is going to make the space seem chopped up. I would just paint the doors a deep color that coordinates with other colors in your home. It gives them more presence and interest. You could put a large round mirror or a large piece of art on the wall next to the door, across from your hooks.

I now have a very fancy laundry room with a wool rug. The runner looks very good in my second floor laundry. Here's a pic of the entry space without the rug. I'm now looking for suggestions for another rug. I can't go too light because I'll be coming in from the garage, but I would like something nice and soft to step on.
