rocky, that is really funny! Now, I know I have made it sound like my husband is just horrible, but he really isn't at all! He is just a very factual person and apparantly somewhere on the roundup bottle it says that it will only harm the plants that you spray it on (or something to that effect). He just isn't buying that roundup is floating in the air and the only thing that it landed on and caused problems with are my roses. He wonders why everything in the yard isn't having problems too. I will admit, it is kind of a valid arguement since I can't give him an answer! Does amyone know if roundup damage causes the new thorns to be very soft and bendable? I'm still not sure if I'm dealing with roundup damage or RRD and I don't know if I should cut off all the funny looking growth or not.

fwiw - I am having same problems for over a month. I posted on the "suggestions forum": safari problems/suggestions forum my last post there: UPDATE: I was okay for a day or two - but it's back to "400 Bad Request". mary4b's message prompted me to contact them again. I was willing to change browsers in order to access the site - not ideal, tho. It's a pain to claer cache (w safari) everytime I want access. Enabling the pop-up blocker is something everyone should do. But this may pose some problems when you go to legitimate sites, so you may have to do some tinkering with it from time to time. Unfortunately, cookies seem to get "planted" no matter what you have set up. Attached is a link I found. I don't know anything about the software they're trying to get you to download but this is worth looking at to find out what tacoda is. What I would do is go to http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ and run their online scan. You might have to download Java if it's not already on your computer. Housecall is what my computer guy uses as the first step to removing virus and I have used it several times where I used to work, where people downloaded every free little gadget they saw, not realizing that so few things on the Internet are free. Many of these things come with spyware, at best, and out-and-out viruses at the worst. One of the biggest messes I had to clean up was when one of the employees downloaded some free cursors -- butterflies and other things that were in constant motion. Not only did that constant motion slow their computers 'way down, but it held the door open for some pretty damaging stuff. Before someone came to me with problems, three employees had downloaded the same programs (recommended by the first employee). One of the employees didn't want to ask me for help and tried to remove the program herself and caused her computer to crash. That computer had to go to the shop. They were able to save all of her files but she did without her computer for a week. I have Norton on my computer, but I find that it doesn't catch everything. Another good program to use, that is free and safe, is Adaware. What azmom says is absolutely correct, I will expand on it with my opinion. I will take someone financially smart over someone financially conservative every day of the week. There is a reason that people who really understand the system, don't mind the right kind of debt. I create, out of thin air, thousands of dollars every year by using debt smartly. A few years ago I had the best year so far. I created almost double my annual salary in interest rate spreads. I am not talking all of my investments, just the money that I would have paid off but chose instead to keep in debt. One easy example, I got an offer for a 0% interest for 18 months on balance transfers offer from a credit card company. I was looking for a new car so I charged $10,000 of it on my credit card then transferred it. I made the minimum monthly payment out of the investment account that I put the $10,000 I was planning on putting down into. After paying the car off I have over $3,000 left in that account. I created more than $3,000 of real usable money for myself because I was willing to take on the right kind of debt. Being overly conservative with your investments can also be a detriment. Age appropriate broad market investing will simply make you wealthier than conservative investing. Being afraid to lose money is also being afraid to make money. Protect yourself with diversification not risk aversion. Think not only in terms of your overall financial position but in terms of your monthly paycheck and how that money gets spent. Sometimes financial decisions that seem amazing have a real negative impact on your actual monthly cash , while things that seem risky may have little impact on your monthly cash. Liquidity > everything. Money is only good if you can spend it. Being rich is not worth anything if you can't turn at least a portion of your position into cash. You can't stick real estate into your wallet and trade it for food at the local grocery store. To me - being smart with your money means disciplined spending, risk appropriate investing, awareness of your actual cash flows and liquidity. If you master those things you will simply be in a better financial position than people who don't.
