Hi!

So I decided to take on my bedroom project. For years I attempted to tackle this project but with so many moves I justify haven’t been able to. I purchased 2 white decorative pillows but realized that they seemed so small in the bed. I got a little discouraged and just gave up. I am having such a difficult time figuring out what accessories and colors to add from bedding,, pillows, curtains, table lamps and wall color. Please help!!! The bed is in a light grey color with tufted crystals. My nights stands are a silver leaf almost champagne looking depending on lighting.

you have a great start to your bedroom. I saw your ideabook and it looks like you like white bedding with some unique trim. I would start there plus two table lamps for your side tables. it looks like you have a queen size bed. I would say you need two regular size pillows. two euro size and then one accent pillow. euros go against the headboard, then the 2 standard and then the accent pillow, like a 20x20 size. I would get all white sheets, add a white quilt and then a duvet with the accent trim. match the duvet and euro shams.

Thank you for your feedback! I was actually consider white bedding. I love the look of crystal or clear lamps to complement the tufted crystals on bed. Now what would you suggest for wall color and curtains?

I love all the suggestions - thank you! Now I need to take pictures of all my rooms and look at them, because I hadn’t realized how bad that chair looked over there until I saw the picture! 😬 As you can tell, the furniture wasn’t bought for this room. We were shocked that everything fit when we moved. I don’t think I can convince my husband to take the fireplace out - he really likes it, and we do use it in the winter some. Unfortunately all the wall space in my closet has built in shelves so no room for the tallboy. The shelves aren’t full so I may see if I can shift some things around and get rid of it. The chair is a smaller size recliner and I don’t know that I can find something much smaller. We have a vent in the corner that the chair would cover there. I don’t use it as much as I used the chair I had at the old house so this one may go. But then do I need something on that wall? I like the idea of getting bedding I love and adding a throw for the dog. We keep our door closed most of the time so that might work. I’m going to look for a white curtain rod and try hanging curtains right below the molding - I like that look! I wish my husband were handy because I’ve always loved the look of mounding on the wall. I’ll have to think about that...

The designer never answered the questions about where the night stands are from, but I'm sure you can find something similar. If you're open to a new lighter colored dresser, or even willing to paint it a different color, I think that would give you more of the "modern casual coastal" look that you're going for. Then you could use the second white end table you posted with a navy or light stained wood dresser. You can likely sell your current dresser to help with the expense of a new one. Or try painting it.

I agree to choose bedding first. Put a solar shade on the window and then get curtain panels that equal 2 1/2 times the window width (not 2 colors). hang the rod higher.

I think if you add some black to the dresser top they should be fine together I am not enamoured with a bunch of matching bedroom furniture .As for the size of the nightstand that all depends on the size of your bed . I think the dresser has art deco feel and so does the night table and I happen to love the rossette and IMO not at all victorian just fun/ It would be nice to see your bed to really have good advice here . I happen to have a platform bed so my night tables are lower .

To stick with the inspiration pic above, I would suggest a soft warm grey in a very light shade. maybe pick a handful of options and try them in the room to see what you think? for curtains, I would pick a darker grey, a color close to your headboard, in a velvet or linen.

the pallet would be a neutral one and could look very nice, but maybe you would like more color... you could add a rug with more color and then take color from the rug for say an accent pillow or an accent wall? or you could create an accent wall with some gorgeous wallpaper. I also think a statement chandelier could really give the room some pop and fun.
