Spring Has Sprung!!!
Comments (33)hostaholic, zone 4, huh? Is it usual to have a wait for spring every year, or is this year colder than normal? Mike, I donâÂÂt know about planting out ferns this soon. IâÂÂm in 6a and IâÂÂm playing it safe and not planting anything out for a couple more weeks, just to be on the safe side. I know itâÂÂs tough if you already have potted plants that have to go in and out all the time, but if your lows are in the 50âÂÂs maybe you can just leave them out unless there is a sudden cold snap. But if you're really in a hurry, you could always just plan to protect them if it gets too cold. Kevin, Minnesota, huh? Well, really weâÂÂve had snow here in Massachusetts in April lots of times and once in awhile, even one in May. I hope you are only getting a flurry and not actual snow on the ground. Robins are too cheerfulâ¦.lol. YouâÂÂre a riot, Kevin! Hang in there, all! It canâÂÂt be much longer now. rouge21, I really have just a Canon Point and Shoot camera. A Powershot A630. I almost always just leave it on Automatic too. I have two methods of getting a photo IâÂÂm happy with, one is I take a lot so I will get at least a couple of good ones, (g) and I steady the camera on something solid when I can. One of those hellebore photos, I took three of them freehand and then I took the same shot from the same direction by stabilizing the camera on something and it was so much better than the three I took freehand. So you might try that with the camera you have and see if it makes a difference. IâÂÂve also taken photos with a tripod and thought it made a real difference too, but I rarely use one any more, itâÂÂs just too much trouble. Oh, I forgot, there is a third consideration that helps, and that is the time of day you take the photo. I always try to get out either very early morning or late afternoon and not usually in the middle of the day. And that is my entire repertoire of photo taking tips that I remember and useâ¦lol....See MoreSpring Has Sprung..........
Comments (5)You need the CSI team there to make comparison cuts with her bolt cutters and nail her. You have to realize that cutting a chain link fence is no easy task. That wire is as tough as the hogwire fencing we have. No ordinary wirecutter will handle it. You have to have one of those really heavy duty setups. I have a pair to use when repairing our fencing and they weigh about 10 pounds and can cut through a steel bolt as big as your finger. Is this lady some sort of Reverse-eco terrorist in disguise? She must be a lot stronger than she looks to be able to man a pair of cutters and whack through your chain link fence. I'd beware if I were you...superhuman strength is a hallmark of insanity, ya know, like hyper-religiosity. DOn't ever let yourself find yourself alone with her. Comments (10)Thanks, holiday-ers...yes, I am doing better each day (DH, too)...coughing is not gone, but much less, thank goodness! I want to get outside in the gardens...but weather must co-operate, too! jane, yes, this is a 3-season porch & we have a little electric stove heater that we can use & open up the sliding doors to the DR when GK's come home to play! We love the porch...it's almost as old as house...40 yrs. ranch style ...but finished off inside, carpeted cement floor, paneled & replaced windows in the last 10 yrs. or so. And, yes, Jane, that single pc of Depression glass is all I have from G'ma's...it is pretty...I must look up the pattern name again...it has pink glass spoon, too. (can't remember if I added that later?) Thanks, Marylee... & yes, Purplemoon, that totem does look like a bird bath...I got the 2 glass birds at StVincentDPaul, the heavy aqua glass dish at a GS & the 1 pc bottom at HLobby...when I made it. luvs, punk & nana...Dollbaby can be a pistol, all right! Yeah, now she wants to be out there playing, too! Glad you enjoyed her. And the "door" cabinet is my fav pc out there...just an original & reminds me of my sis' old farm house. Thanks, holiday-ers! Comments (8)west_gardener, hope we hear from you soon. Spring has really sprung here, which means I had to mow my lawn with the to be expected frills, like a battery which drained during the winter and had to load it after the first stop on the lawnmower, the ditto battery for the string mower and the sneaker which got stuck in the muddy ditch. The joys of spring. Oh, the oaks and the beech lost their last leaves yesterday and I have at least 10 bags of leaves to bag. I knew there is a reason I like winter!...See Moreberrypiez6b
