Well, I took everything out of my kitchen drawer, went back to the car, no keys. I did find quite a few things in my kitchen drawer, like multiple packs of kitchen sponges I didn't know were there, old recipe cards I typed up who-knows-when, four keys to the front door that don't fit the current locks, a Mother's Day drawing from my kids from 2005, an open two pack of hand sanitizer!!! with one mini bottle still inside, and a pair of keys that the previous owner of the house had taped a note to that says: keys for hot tube cover...which I had removed years ago.

I also found two envelopes of sprouting seeds: broccoli and alfalfa...so I added some broccoli to my sprouter. I had some new alfalfa seeds started yesterday, left one tray to start in a couple days so they all wouldn't be ready at the same time.

Still no clue where I could have left my keys.

That is so frustrating! I feel your pain! I hope you find them soon, and I am glad you are finding some surprises!

Nothing panics me more than losing my keys. I hope you find yours soon.

If it was me I would be praying to St. Anthony the patron saint of lost things. He has helped me lots of times. Good Luck to you

Did you check the lock? One time I couldn't find the car keys and they were in the trunk lock :)

Did you check that they are not in the lock?

I have had that happen with the door keys.

Check all your sweater and jacket pockets. Check the shoes and boots by the door! I once found my lost credit card in a boot, it had fallen out of my pocket. And I found my car keys in the jacket I had already washed and put away for the season.

I did check the lock. Totally cleaned out that drawer. Checked all my coat and jacket pockets, pant pockets. I'm about to lose my mind. I just called a locksmith and it is at least $58 for them to come out to cut a lock off. I told them I would think about it. I wonder how much bolt cutters would cost? Not sure I'm strong enough to do it though.

Did you check the outbuilding, or the garage or wherever you might be working when you're outside?

Do you have a dremel tool? That's much easier to use than bolt cutters. Or a small saw electric or battery.

Or beat it with a hammer or sledge hammer.

Check your shoes too in the closet in case they could have fallen into them.

I've checked everywhere and just ran to the local hardware store. Everyone is out and about. No mask wearing except for me. When I was looking at the bolt cutters, there was a couple in the same isle only further down. The woman coughed as she walked by me. It was obvious she was trying to be cute. I didn't find it cute or funny and made a rude comment under my breath.

As I drove by Kroger I noticed the parking lot was packed. I don't understand people. Even Ace Hardware, where I went was busier than normal. Since I was out I bought a bunch of manure so I wouldn't have to go out again. Unfortunately the guy told me they were 50 pound bags and they were only 25 pound bags when we got outside. He isn't the one that rung them up. I'm a little annoyed at that. I wasn't going to go back in to pay for more though. As the guy was loading my manure he said they ran out of paint coloring (pigment?) because they were so busy. So much for social distancing.

I am so weak, barely put a groove in the metal on the lock. Even trying to leverage it against the fence didn't help. So, my neighbor was mowing out front and I walked across the street to ask if he would cut it off for me. I did try to stay far away from him. He thought I was gonna ask for hedge clippers. lol When he said that I looked across the street at my overgrown bushes.

How about the toe-kick area under your cabinets? It could have hit the floor and bounced? Is the lock going through an external hasp that is attached by screws? Maybe you could just remove the screws?

Under the sofa cushions if you sat down while wearing pants and the keys fell out?

The lock is off and I now, thanks everyone for ideas of where to look.

I lost two bills I was getting ready to mail. I was going out to check my mail and remembered I had one ready to send in the envelope and already stamped and one that needed a check etc. I stopped, got my check book out and ready to write and couldn't find the two bills. I have searched and searched and they are just gone! I don't even remember who the bills were from. Guess next month those two bills will be whoppers. I also misplaced an income check from last month so will have to call and see if they can replace it. I swear my mind is just like swiss cheese.

Funchtionthenlook, I'll be really ticked off if I find my keys now.

Listened to the Governor's speech before I went back out, or most of it. 11 more Kentuckians died today. Neighbors next door are having a big party. I don't get it. After taking the last two bags of compost from my car to the backyard to pot up some lettuce and greens, I noticed they were all sitting close together under blankets (it's chilly)...so they weren't even attempting to social distance. Governor is now allowing local law enforcement to take license plates off cars at big gatherings and giving the name and address of those people to the health department and then they will make them self quarantine for 14 days. It's mostly because of churches still being open and the upcoming holiday.

Satine100, that wouldn't be fun to lose a check! Sometimes I forget to pay my internet bill, even though I have all my bills written down on a sheet of paper and when they are due. Half the time I just miss it by a day or two and then have to pay the stupid late fee. I should just put it on automatic payments like my internet "tv" bills are and my phone.

Had to come in and take a break, my bad foot was cramping up. I did manage to get most of the straw bales in the backyard and the potato garden started. I ordered my potatoes last night on line so who knows when they will come. I should have ordered them two months ago. Most of them were sold out. I'm still waiting for delicata squash seeds. Not a long storing squash but my favorite.

I am using the Ruth Stout method of gardening for the potatoes. I need more compost though.

You probably still want to find the key - so you can happily throw it away. Could you have transferred it to your regular key ring and forgotten about it?

I would look next to where the straw bales were.

satine as far as bills when my husband started becoming mentally bad and I was paying more attention to him rather than bills I decided to setup so all of them were paid directly from my bank. I still receive electronic bills but I no longer have to worry about loosing or not receiving one.

As far as income every place I have worked since the late 1980s has done direct deposit. That too I know the amount and when it is supposed to be deposited. Both of these makes it much easier for me to manage and if something would happen to me and I had to go to the hospital I would not have to worry about the what if's.

Another suggestion although not everyone can do it is to clear your mind and visualize the last time you picked up the keys/object and have your mind visualize everything you did after that. This is the only way that I am able to find things sometimes.
