Comments (6)I really like the color combination you have right now--your roof is dark brown, so it to me is a very restful but welcoming combination which is enhanced by the white trim. I also like the distinctive look the porch rail gives to the house. There is probably no area in which tastes can differ as much as color preference, but I did find one article that claimed that blue is a major preference amog adults: "Adults have been found cross-culturally to prefer blue to other colors. ItâÂÂs a nearly universal preference. But does this preference occur naturally, or do children and infants have different preferences? Prior to 2001, there wasnâÂÂt a definitive answer to this question. In that year, Marcel Zentner of the University of Geneva conducted a study that not only answered that question, but also sought to explore the relationship between color and emotion (âÂÂPreferences for colours and Colour-Emotion Combinations in Early Childhood,â Developmental Science, 2001)." You might want to consult with a respected local realtor regarding preferred home colors in your area, since you are thinking of selling in a relatively short time. Realtors seem to be willing to be helpfut to possible future clients....See Morea small small home update
Comments (19)Thanks MsJ, I do not think you have been lazy at all!!!! I think these projects which seem so simple in our heads tend to explode with the doing part of it in a hurry. I redid a kitchen the size of yours once. I tore out tile and old cabinets. Repaired walls. Ceiling was fine. Floor was ugly but I did not change it. I paid to have the cabinets and counter built and installed. I finished the cabinets and installed sink and faucet. No change to range or exhaust for it. All of this took me a month of almost constant working on it. I only worked 4 hours a day at my job. I was also much younger and stronger than I am now. This was over 30 years ago.Oh and I only had an L shape cabinet situation. AND there were no changes to what was there to begin with but newly built cabinets because the old ones were so awful and falling apart. So as I see it................ Considering all you have had to do over and above what I had to do you have done very well. Your space is turning out darling. The rest of your house will fall into place. Remember we have been here four years now. I keep changing things around because that is my nature to do so. I like change. We used to just move from house to house. Now I just wear out the furniture and floors moving things around. LOL Many of our things are on wheels....See MoreSmall Exterior Updates...what to do?

Comments (5)All great comments! Stone is mostly tans/beiges with hints of white and grey. We've done a light and a dark tan (current color), which could have "aged" the look of the old facade. I was thinking a grey tone would give an update. A balcony with additional lights would definitely improve the look but alas that costs more than our budget. Thank you for the spot-on pic as inspiration for some day. Our door is like that in the pic, except on the left side....See Morehoussaon
