Comments (1)Would you place some nice photos an that shelf? Look at this photo with a nice corner fireplace: I really like the photo display. You can also search for "fireplace" you'll get a few hundreds photos with great ideas. Good Luck! Comments (11)I have a similar angled fireplace. If you're not wedded to the TV over the fireplace, I would suggest putting it next to the fireplace and angling your furniture around the TV. That's the way mine is. You can see the TV face on from some pieces of furniture, and the fireplace face on from others, but all can see the TV and fireplace. I use my fireplace daily in the winter so don't want a TV over it, it gets too hot up there. I would advice against a sectional. You can get the utility of a sectional from a couch and a lounge chair or two. I'd be more apt to angle the couch where the chairs are in your picture. A floor drawing would probably help with furniture placement. I think you could totally redo the room to match your inspiration picture, keeping the wall color unless you really want a dramatic change. I love the curtains in the inspiration photo! Your house is open concept like mine. Hard to figure out whether to repaint or not, because once you start with one room, it snowballs to how that affects the other rooms. You could always do one wall another color like the current owners have in the photo. Wish I knew what that color was in your inspiration photo. Browns and tans are the worst for me as far as choosing the right one. I burned up a lot of cash in sample paints when I moved into my new house. But it is the right time to repaint, before you move all the furniture in . . ....See MoreHow to decorate corner fireplace
Comments (1)You'd get more comments if we had a few photos. Blue and gold go fine with gray and black. You could incorporate a few more blue and gold items around the room in throw pillows, curtains or other decor if you feel the need for more blending. If this is a working fireplace, just be sure that whatever decor you incorporate will not be heat-damaged in their locations....See Moreideas needed to decor corner of a wall
Comments (7)Still not addressing the right angle, corner effect with 2 narrow walls. Agree a wider angle photo might suggest more. Which wall seems more head- on. A furniture item in one with art above and a linear art arrangement on other wall. A tall narrow mirror could be one of these. This is begging for some experimentation before buying— try using existing item, stool, paper cutouts, propping something up, to get an idea of what you “ see”, what would be reflected, if using a mirror. What scale— proper height. If this area needs to store shoes and coats, tgat may be hard. If it can be decorative and fun, I’d try to experiment and window shop , and budget for something simple and beautiful ( in your decor style). Maybe allowing for some seasonal changes....See Moremisecretary
