Pantry Pocket Door Pull Choices - Your Thoughts?
Comments (12)Eam - I wandered off to look at other sellers, and found enduring's gorgeous pocket door with Sugatsune edge pull. For our current pocket door, I am very much used to no moving parts. Finish is stainless steel (satin). I love this but also want the pull to match the handle finish Decision made! I culled the finalists and ended up with three oval heights: 4.5, 5.9, and 7". I think I like the shortest best and have ordered it and the 7" in Polished Chrome, which matches my other hardware. Thanks all!...See Moremarine hardware on pocket door to pantry?
Comments (2)Toronto - are you talking about a pull for the front of the pocket door or the edge pull on the door side? We have recessed handles on file cabinet drawers in another cabinet; occasionally they don't fall back all the way to flush. I don't think I'd add this to a pocket door, or the 'emotion' pull nicole linked; someone (probably me) would close the door and scrape the trim. How often will the pantry door be open? Note that an open pantry door solves the ventilation issue. Ours are almost never closed, except to photgraph:). We added the Clinton pulls, which are shallow, true, but DH who has large hands has no problem using them. (They come in different sizes). The harder decision was the edge pull - I ordered two different models from House of Antique hardware and both felt too small, so I ended up with the Sugatsane edge pull. Here it is on enduring's beautiful pocket door: Good luck!...See Morebarn doors, pocket doors or french door?
Comments (14)I'm going to say none of above (if pocket doors not an option).... I see french doors in new construction offices all the time and all I can attribute it to is "what everyone is doing" because from a practicality issue it makes no sense to me. Most people's offices are for working in and are functional and private and often times, messy! Why would people want that to be "open" to everyone? You certainly don't want your guests to see it and it is even unappealing and even stressful to look at a space covered in piles and clutter. I know everyone's office is not this way but trust me :), most are not the tidiest rooms in the house! Put solid doors that offer noise control and privacy. Also gives you other options if for some reason it needs to serve another function at any time- i.e. guest room....See MoreShow me your walk-in pantry door!! (also considering no door at all)
Comments (21)I have an inward opening door, and I leave the pantry open all the time except when I have company. The door is against a wall (which had to be there... the other side is the stairs leading down to the basement). Having door open nearlyall the time (necessary because there's also a freezer in there) meant that the door wouldn't impose on the kitchen proper, since I have it opening inward....See Moreeam44
