Green paint selection for nursery with slanted walls?
Our nursery will be in a room with a slanted ceiling. The nursery will have a jungle theme, and we've selected a wallpaper we love to serve as a feature wall (it will be fully covering the wall with the window at the end of the nursery). We are now trying to pick a coordinating paint color for this rather bold green wallpaper. The baby furniture will all be white, and the nursery rug will be very light colored as well. We were looking at green colors, but we weren't sure if we should try to find a bolder green that matches closely with the wallpaper, or instead look for a lighter green (such as BM Palladian Blue or BM Sage Tint) so that the room won't seem too heavy, or instead go for a darker green that more closely matches the wallpaper (such as BM Wythe Blue or SW Jasper Stone). What do you all think? The second question is which walls to paint--do the slanted walls stay the white ceiling color, or do they get painted the vertical "wall" color as well?
Nursery room (the slanted walls go down fairly low. Please ignore the chair, etc., which will all be removed from the finalized nursery).

4 years agoIf those are your final choices, I'd do the middle one on the left. If you are sold on green but still unsure, pick something close to one of the lighter leaves in the wallpaper. If you aren't sold on green, I'd think about something to match the blue-ish leaves...like in this section...

4 years agolast modified: 4 years agoConsider Crisp Romaine used where they have yellow here and inside the dormer. Personally, I think the baboon in the wallpaper is a little too scary for a nursery. I'm not sure babies can actually focus on that much going on in a wallpaper. Stick with something simpler.

Comments (4)I am not the best person to answer because I am biased toward Manchester Tan since I have it in my family room and totally love it. Your samples look exactly like my room, except for the bounce @ night pic. That one looks darker than my room looks at any point. I also agree that it looks better with the carpet. For what it's worth, I am also someone drawn to saturated colors (duh, Moroccan Red! :-), but I really love the MT. Of course, the Bennington Gray is a great color too, and it is one I am considering for my master bedroom or bath. Comments (10)On my monitor, your countertop looks like a charcoal gray, and the backsplash looks like a navy blue. Having said that, we used Benjamin Moore's formula for Tranquility, but with Mythic paint, for trim in the kitchen. I'm not sure whether it's a blue with a lot of green in it or a green with blue in it, but in our kitchen, it reads as a green. Comments (17)Funky, We have warm oak flooring in our home & for our family room/kitchen we chose a RH color called Sea Green. It is a bluish green but greyed down a little. When we bought the house, they had a dog poo color (sorry, but that's what it looked like) on the walls in here. We changed that to yellow & chose wrong...too much green undertone, and just wasn't right. I struggled & struggled, and went with the Sea Green.. It is an easy color to live with, and easy to accessorize with other colors such as red, pink, green, rusts. Our sofa is a caramel (darkish) leather. Hope that helps....our color goes great with the wood floors. Our main living space has Devine Oak and it also is easy to live with and goes wellwith the floors. It would look great with your existing rug. RH also has some green/greyish paints that are nice. Comments (6)I also think BM Come Sail Away would be a really nice choice for the walls given the bedding, bed frame etc. A jewel tone green on the ceiling might be an interesting and up to date pop of the green she’s is wanting!...See More
