Comments (36)Jersey if you will review our 112 reviews on Houzz.com many of which have photos of the furniture in consumer homes, additionally all of the reviews have been verified by Houzz. Houzz checks IP address of each review and takes other measures if needed to verify reviews you will find many customers who have posted reviews of their furniture having had the furniture in their homes for several years. I recall a few which had their leather sofas for 5 years. Just as an FYI I have Casco Bay Madison sectional in my own family room and it is 6 years old. My wife and I have a 3 and 5 year old grandchild who spend a lot of time at our house including many vacations in which the grand kids stay with us and and our sectional in Brompton Cocoa still looks like new. The Brompton Cooca leather has held up pefectly. There is no sag to the cushions or springs. If you want to email us I can send you a picture of the set. One reflection of the quality of product is our clearance area which is generally reserved from most companies for returns and you will find nothing in clearanxe as rarely do we ever get a set back. Generally all we have in clearance is photo samples. We have sold over 12000 customers in the past 12 years. We take no short cuts in the materials used in the construction of our sofas. Most of our upholsterers were sample makers from other high qulity companies with 30 years expereince. One of our factory owners owned Taylor King, one of the premier companies in the industry with his family selling the business to Hancock and Moore where he continued to run the factory after the sale. After a period of time he re-opened as Jonathan Weslley Furniture who makes a number of our sets under a private contract to our specs. All of his upholsterers were his former employees. We use the same suppliers used by other top quality companies selling sofas at twice our cost such as Moore and Giles of Forest Virginia as our our exclusive leather supplier, Associated Hardwoods of Granite Falls, North Carolina as our exclusive hardwood supplier and Ultra Mech also of North Carolina as our exclusive mechanism supplier in our recliner program. These are the same suppliers for example used by Hancock and Moore. Please give me a call if I can be of any further help. I personally have 41 years of expereince in the industry and would be happy to impart any knowledge I have to you whether or not you choose one of our sets. I enjoy talking to people. Comments (38)Good morning all: Well, we went with two 100" Madison leather sofas in Brompton Cocoa from Casco Bay Furniture and they arrived last Thursday, several weeks before expected. We LOVE them! Our sofas were estimated to take about 16 weeks as the size was custom so frames had to be built from new pattern. In addition, Rob was kind enough to send us several hide samples from amongst the numerous they have at the warehouse so we could choose the color we liked. This too was supposed to add to the time and we were thinking a delivery time in May but last Thursday they arrived right on time. My family and I could not be happier. They look EXACTLY like RH Maxwell sofas. I understand that the ones from CB are superior in construction to the ones currently made in China by RH, but since we have only had them one week I can only tell you what they look and feel like. They are beautiful now and we are looking forward to seeing how they "weather" over time. My husband literally started on one end of one sofa, got up, moved down a little, all the way to the end of the second sofa to see if there was any sagging or lifting of cushions: there was none. When we went to the RH Outlet in Wrentham in December/January we sat on several 96"and 108" Lancaster and Maxwell sofas and found the sagging, and if one person sat on the end of one cushion with no one else in the middle, it would lift like a see-saw. The sofas on the floors of RH retail showrooms are most often over 5 years old from when they were constructed in the US: the ones at the Outlets are more consistent with quality of product if ordered today as they are typically customer returns. In the end, we could not be happier and I look forward to doing more business with Casco Bay in the future. /Users/christine/Pictures/iPhoto Library/Previews/2012/04/10/20120410-112846/IMG_1678.jpg /Users/christine/Pictures/iPhoto Library/Previews/2012/04/10/20120410-112808/IMG_1677.jpg /Users/christine/Pictures/iPhoto Library/Previews/2012/04/10/20120410-112846/IMG_1681.jpg...See MoreLeather Selection: Restoration Hardware

Comments (22)I think the idea of any Brown, or any Taupe being a Neutral and that it will go with anything is something that will date current decorating trends. Genuine leather (just like granite) was Out of fashion for some time because of the popularity of synthetics during the mid-century period. My parents had a custom suede sofa that aged very poorly (it was brown and ended up with bluish black shiny wear marks on it) --the company paid to recover it, and offered black leather, and my parents picked black Naugahyde for it's bullet-proof ness. (Still in their house). Leather has become much cheaper, because the ways of processing leather all the way to processing the Dermis to look like the hide by coating it and painting it, and embossing it --has made "Leather" accessible at all price points (although the Bycast leather process I described can't be called "leather" in some countries). So the big, *relatively inexpensive "leather" sofa may be something that says early 2000s, as well as the "neutral" color of the sofa, being shoehorned into a room full of other colors....See MoreKristin Jones
