Help!!! chandelier size dilemma for dining room!
Comments (13)Thanks so much for your opinions! Wow...I must say that I'm a bit surprised from the responses! For some reason, I totally thought that I was going to get more "go with the smaller" - but it seems that the larger is the favored choice here. Just 1 more thought to throw out there...given the table width is only 38" - a 32" dia chandelier would mean there would only be a 3" "space cushion" on each side for those seated in the central chairs. I know the rule is that the light should hang at least 30" above the table...but do you think this will interfere & people might hit their heads at all? I'm super excited that you are all helping me to make a decision. I've been so wishy-washy about this...worrying that if place the order, and get it...it would not be the right size...and I could only imagine how much of a hassle & costly it would be to ship back to exchange. And thanks for the compliments on my selection - i REALLY love it, and hope it is just perfect in our DR. Thanks!...See MoreShades or no shades on chandelier?
Comments (16)Unless the wattage on the candelabra bulb is extremely low, the quality of light from a bare filament bulb is not attractive and casts strange shadows in the room IMO. If I select a chandelier like these below, I'll make sure I have supplemental lighting in the room, so I never have to turn these fixtures up for general illumination. If I need a room to have really good illumination, I will select a fixture that blocks viewing of the bulb with shades or by design. I used small clip on chandelier shades often in the 80's, but they're a bit out of style on the traditional chandeliers. I would consider using the 'flicker bulbs' for effect though....See MoreDesign dilemma window treatments

Comments (9)Prefer either the gray or the color left of the gray for decking. If at all possible, keep the deck one level. Decide on your deck color before deciding on any color for the art frames. Is a rectangle the only option for shape? Could you wrap your deck around a corner so you have sun/shade option?...See MoreJilly
