Clematis ID and some questions....
Comments (3)Actually most people do plant type III hard prunes with roses because they are easy to whack to the ground and pull out at the same time you prune your roses. The Clematis in the picture is a type III but I'm not sure which one. There are several similar. Tango, Minuet, and Palette come to mind. Henryi is a II. Most people prefer to keep the pruning groups together or prune them all the same if possible....See MoreHelp with Knockout Roses
Comments (8)I lost a 4 year old last year, same sort of decline. I did a search and think it was a bug, possibly thrips from similar photos of infestations. I dug the dead one out and left that area alone for 6 months. I transplanted 3 roses and added a pink knock out. Just recently I treated all my roses and indian hawthorn which was really showing insect damage. i originally started this search because of the hawthorn looking ill. That led me to rosé pictures and well, I had a match. I couldn't see any bugs even with my magnifier. So far, so good. Fingers crossed though! Comments (5)Our heat has been pretty high the last couple of weeks. I have many new bushes from one and two gallon pots that I planted this spring. All are own root. I check the ground an inch down before I water. If we get less that a quarter inch of rain I usually have to hand water using a wand every two days. If we get more than one quarter inch rain I wait until three to four days after the rain to water. I do have mine in beds with no grass or weeds and it is mulched so the water doesn't evaporate as fast. The key is how quickly is your ground drying out then set up a water schedule based on that. My schedule works great for me....See MoreChris Dorman
