Sadly, yes...several. I live in a very small town (2500) in Kansas, and a young man from another county had the virus and was a worker at our local nursing home. There are now 11 confirmed cases there and they are taking their temps twice a day and testing when appropriate. It seems that most are residing in the ALZ wing of Life Care. Our Official Health doctor just sent a video begging people to take this very seriously....but there are always those who won’t.😡

No, not yet. I had to go into work today to do an emergency case, but we protected ourselves from her and made sure she was protected from us. Then a young man in critical care in our ER. He was beaten, and was also a possible heroin overdose. Body temp in the 70s. We worked on him for 2 hours before he was life flighted out, probably not to ever come home. Working in full PPE for that amount of time, I was covered in sweat. My scrubs were wet under my PPE. I cannot imagine being on the front lines, in PPE all day and not be able to eat, drink, or use the bathroom. I hope we was not a silent carrier, for his sake as well as ours.

No and I am still waiting on my test results. It's been 11 days. I called my doctor's office last Friday because my manager was asking if I was returning work Saturday. I never got a return call from them. I sent an e-mail also. Friday I got a call from upper management at work and they told me to return to work on Saturday so I did. I was symptom free for a week by then. It would've been better to know the results first.

My doctor e-mailed me Sunday to tell me he still hadn't gotten the results and they were checking every day. I called today because I had a message to call them back. They were finally calling me back from my Friday inquiry about a return to work note. Still no test results.

yes my DB step son was tested positive for it. He lives about 280 miles from me and I don't see him often. He is about 20 years old.

Phoggie, Kirkland Washington. So many deaths took place there....the first case confirmed dated all the way back to February.

Not yet, but I will. When I spoke with my oncologist today -- no 'in office' visit this month -- she said covid-19 has been light in both of 'her' hospitals, but that she fully expects the worst is gearing up and will hit like a huge wave.

My town is north of Chicago and has had more confirmed cases than many surrounding areas with larger populations. It could be that affluent people are more likely to arrange tests. There could also be more residents who travel frequently. Or...something else.

Diagnosed- yes. As in passed through by the doctors and registered into the county health departments as being monitored. Mild symptoms don't get tested even when it's a positive diagnosis.

Tested positive confirmed is another thing. Unless you have to be admitted to the hospital, or can positively confirm personal contact with a tested positive confirmed case as well as having severe symptoms... they don't test you. Don't know anyone yet that has managed to be sick enough and can jump through the hoops to get tested.

Kathsgarden, so glad to hear you’re feeling better. It is incredible that you’ve not got test results in 11 days! Totally unacceptable.

A friend Who lives in NYC has tested positive. She was never too sick, just high fever and achy but worn out for two weeks. She never needed hospitalization and is in her 60s. She is already recovering but today told me the constant sirens are breaking her heart.

I have a cousin and her husband in the DC area that both have it. Unless they experienced shortness of breath they were told to stay home, so never were tested. She had high fevers, GI issues and very weak. She did become a bit short of breath when using stairs. They’ve had it about 10 days and are now starting to improve slowly. They were really sick with it. I also have extended family in the Lombardy region of Italy which has been hit so hard. They shared that almost every day they hear of a friend or acquaintance that has died, and have family in the hospital. Really so sad and traumatic.

Yes sadly. Plus in the Law firm my daughter works at 3 have the virus and Sunday the Sr Partner died because of it. Think about this, no one will attend funetals. Plus any of these deaths are to be cremated do to it being a deadly virus.

Lots of people are ignoring the warnings. Teenagers seem to be the most guilty. Scary

I'm sure it is regional, but teens 13 - 18 are only 2% of the population that tested positive in my county.

So apparently in my area the teens and young adults are observing the warning.

Function...how many tests were given in your county? Remember most young people don’t meet the criteria to even be tested.

I'm not sure this is true. If they are not breathing, they are not expelling the virus.

An acquaintance in the Atlanta area was hospitalized with her doctor because of lack of space. The latter was on a ventilator for a few days. They tried experimental drugs on them. Both have recovered, but are quarantined in a guest house on her property. They are driving each other nuts, but she's happy that she can at least see her family through windows and get outside a little when her young grandchild is safely inside the main house.

I worry about DH's friend. He's an MD - specialty is infectious diseases. He's in his late 60's and working long hours again and seeing patients who are hospitalized with COVID-19.

My son thought he was well enough to work from home. Not so. He has relapsed. This virus is serious stuff, folks. Take care, please.

Our friend, a contractor has it and has been very sick, but able to deal with it at home. He installed crown moulding in our home in mid February, but DH and I are fine. I did panic when he told us, but we were not with him during the window of exposure time. DH and I still isolated just in case.

My brother with CV called me this afternoon. He is thankfully on the mend, although still extremely weak. He told me that he has no recollection of several of the worst days, except that his fever was very high, his body ached horribly, he thinks he must have slept or been delirious through most of it . . . and that he truly thought he was not going to make it through this alive.

I can't believe these people who have been exposed who are still running around. Or being compelled to come to work. Now understandably some type of work can't be done remotely, but some of this work simply does not need to be done.

As of yesterday morning, Wisconsin had 24 deaths and 10 of those were in one neighborhood on the north side of Milwaukee. Another lopsided data: All Milwaukee deaths have been African Americans.

Jemdandy, that is odd. Blacks do have a higher rate of diabetes, but for all the deaths to be black is lopsided.

My bff's 27 yo old daughter and SIL both have C-19, they live on Long Island, and are both home, but sick and weak. The father of my friend's SIL is hospitalized in NYC, intubated and not doing well. They don't believe they infected each other, my friend's SIL hasn't seen his father in person since Thanksgiving.

No, not that I know of. We’re in Oakland County, MI which is a hot spot; most of the hospitals are already at capacity. At least on of the hospitals has started to reassign staff from clinics to help support the hospital teams as well. I’ve had to work part of the time outside of our home and literally everywhere I go it appears that everyone is abiding by the stay home order. While out working yesterday, I had to make a quick run into the grocery store to replenish our food supply, I’m getting used to seeing people in their masks but have to admit it was quite shocking to see a few men in gas masks. I hope that everyone who’s either been exposed or has loved ones/friends who are sick or exposed will be ok.

The building owner of one of the commercial building remodels my husband's working on..... admitted his wife has CV, is in the hospital. The general contractor forbade him to enter the building....full of workers that day. REALLY! WTF!

I just found out that my DB stepson tested negative. I had it wrong.

My neighbor three houses down from me just told me that his father died from Coronavirus, His father was 83 years old and lived with him. I was standing across the street when he was telling me this. I hope I was far enough away.

Yes...a lovely woman I worked with, who retired less than a year ago from the university where we worked, became sick last week, and died on Thursday (in the hospital). She was 65.

When this all started I remember saying to a friend that the question is not WILL it affect us, but HOW it will. Today we learned of two more people we know who are sick. One is hospitalized.

Everyone in my house has been staying home, but today I ran out to get groceries from the online/curbside service. I’ve never used this service, but now is the perfect time to try it. The empty parking lots in town and seeing people in protective gear made me so sad. I had a good bawl on my way home (and I’m not a cryer.... can’t remember the last time I cried).

I was hoping on the news tonight they would of said "APRIL FOOLS ".

I'm sorry for all of you that know people with this virus. It's a scary time right now. I finally got my test results today and it was negative. So glad I didn't expose my coworkers!

DD's 41 y.o. bff has been ill with it the past few days and went to the E.R. today. Desperately waiting for an update.
