Comments (59)Yes, I was not suggesting that Plato was budget. I had originally not realized how much of the others I first considered -was Chinese import. (I did start looking about 2 years ago before all the tariffs and drama). When I tried to search for US Made ( as opposed to US warehouse) the choices were much diminished. I knew someone connected with Plato so I still paid more than the other brands, but I know that I got superb quality. As I said, everything that came was ready to install... Any research I did confirmed that Plato was a superior product....See Morehome click out of business?

Comments (47)Sorry, skimchi, for taking so taking so long to answer - it is a Crema Bordeaux. Just thought that I would thank everyone for taking the time to help me in my decision - much, much appreciated! I went to the granite store today and ordered a piece to go behind the stove - picked a piece that has a big splotch of the peachy coloured bit as well as the burgundy waves. I've ordered a custom bevel to match that of my cab doors, on three sides (top near the fan and then the two sides).....and to be able to accomodate the CHOCOLATE coloured matte tiles nicely. Sigh, yes, we went with chocolate. DH really really didn't like the cream, so I tried out the skinner 2 x 12 chocolate tiles behind the sink - interspersed with 2 x 2 of the little glass tiles.....and we love it!!! So I tried to be higher end, changed up the pattern, and gave it a go on the shortest of the L shaped backsplash walls....with a bit less success. The colour of the tile reminds me of hot chocolate. Maybe I'll tire of it by summer, and given the skills of the person who applied the tile (me), we'll be able to simply pop off the tiles and try something else :) I'll post photos in a couple of weeks, once the granite is in and the tiles are on! Again, thanks to everyone for sharing their opinions - it helped us truly explore our likes and dislikes!...See MoreLamp Store going out of business - Is this shade better?
Comments (28)Just to help clarify. Hopefully. The console table in front of the window IS the table that's in the close up picture. The round table is what the brass lamp is currently sitting on. Here's some room shots. That close up pic is why I didn't think it would look nice in front of the window...because it's all like big table, big lamp. Squirrel - IRL the cream shaded lamp is actually gold that's why I was asking. It does look more cream in these pics. Lol the hybrid lamp! The candle covers, I can't believe I'm admitting this but they're rolled up pieces of poster board! The size of the hole is larger than any candle sleeves I can find anywhere. I actually did buy some fat candles at michaels to stick in but it seemed if the cats even ran by the table fast they'd fall over. It was driving me crazy. The poster board was my alternative for now. (See why I should've bought that ebay lamp!) :) Bronwynsmom - I like those lamps. Part of my dilemma is if I don't use that brass lamp in the LR I don't know where else I could use it. And I really like it. Where do you put something that tall?...See MorePatricia Colwell Consulting
