My son is just finishing up a bathroom redo. He had water leaking into the kitchen below the bathroom. To correct the leak he had to remove the tub, tile surround and floor tile so that meant the vanity and toilet had to go too. One of his friends told him to file a claim with his insurance company. He was pleasantly surprised when they gave him a check that amounted to about half of the total renovation cost. So if you haven't done so already file a claim with your insurance company. His bathroom is a simliar set up to yours except his vanity is 66 inches long. His toilet is also between the vanity and tub like yours. He has another bathroom with a tub so he decided to do a shower only in this bathroom. He opted for the Kohler cast iron shower pan that is meant to replace a 30x60 tub. His vanity will be natural maple. He found a remnant at a fabricator's and will be using black pearl granite for the countertop. Just for some ideas for you here is his before And here is a during: He used Dal Tiles Ayers Rock Majestic Mound porcelain tile with 13x20 tiles on the wall and 20x20 on the floor. He is waiting on shower doors and his counter top so I can't post finished pics yet but we think it already looks great. My daughter did a small bath remodel this past spring she used Dal Tiles Florentine porcelain tile. She kept her tub and used 12x24 around it with 24x24 on the floors. Since she had no linen closet in her house she opted to sacrifice sink/countertop space for tall storage. Her sink base is 24 inches and the tall cabinet is 18 inches. Like the gray rectangle tiles. Don't like those that are not smooth -- cleaning nightmare in the making. Bathrooms need "storage", too -- laundry hamper space in addition to storage space for toiletry items -- and don't forget that plunger and cleaning supplies. You also need an enclosed towel cabinet as far away from the steam of the shower as possible but still inside the bath for convenience. A full length mirror behind the door with a hook over that for a bathrobe is also a good idea. One option: 3' depth to put your shower/tub combo in the 7' end of the room. 3' for toilet. (Note: choose the mid-height rather than the shorter one.) 5' for vanity 3' for door clearance. (You've marked it at 3'). +_____ +14' total. You need a 3' path out of the 7' width for the length of the room for walking. You need about 3' from the wall for the toilet, back to front, leaving you 4' of the 7' across from the toilet -- room on that wall for towel racks near the tub. A vanity will be about 18" deep, leaving you 5 1/2' feet -- 3' for walking path and 2 1/2 for another feature. Across from the vanity, add a 18" countertop and overhead cabinets the same length. The countertop can be used as a dressing table and/or a place under which you can hide a laundry hamper. You'll also find it useful as a place for setting your clean clothes as you shower. Across from the door, add a floor to ceiling cabinet 18" deep for towels. If you can add a window above the countertop between the overhead cabinets, do.

I would use the wave tile only on the back wall of the shower as a design statement, but would use something else on the side walls of the shower where the shower trim would be located. There wouldn't be a flat surface to install the trim on that wavy surface. It would need to be caulked and some areas would have a thin caulk line and others a thick one. I agree that this tile should be installed horizontally like most waves are pictured and no accent boarder. Most shower floors need a smaller tile in order to have a slope to the drain and most wood look tiles usually come in sizes 24" and longer.

Paint the window frames for sure -- they're dark and overbearing. I can't opine on gray, given that I can't really make out the color of your floor tile, but if a gray will coordinate, then that seems fine. I'd have a pro do it, as lacquered wood will take some stripping and sanding before it can be painted properly... Wallpaper could be nice, or just paint. I'd look for a grout paint in a medium gray to go over the bright white lines in your tub surround, which would help it look a bit more updated. I'd ditch the plant in the corner too...
