Please help - Best location in our living room for TV?
Comments (2)Does your TV have to be in the living room? I don't know your layout, but since that's the room that opens to the kitchen, what if you made it your dining room, with your china cabinet on one short wall and your sideboard on the other, and turned your dining room into a den and TV room? Would your way of living work with such an arrangement?...See MoreMoved into a new place, no idea where to place TV in living room
Comments (1)Is that a functioning fireplace? It appears to just have candles inside of it? If it is not a functioning fireplace, then mounting a TV above it, may not be bad if you can remove that mantle and mount TV a little lower. That's a small room to watch a TV mounted high on a wall. PLace TV above the shelf wooden cube shelf & have sofa float/face it. You can move sofa now & take pics to see if it seems too cramped. Or but a corner TV stand with a wall mounted TV you can pull out & angle when TV is being used. Or buy a smaller flat screen and mount on 32" wall & down the line, have built in made cooperating fireplace. If this is not the only TV viewing room, I would consider not using it for main TV viewing....See MoreHelp deciding room layout - where to place TV?
Comments (3)I hate TV in my LR and have only one time ever had it there and never again. I guess you need to know how you entertain . We have amedia room in our walk out with also a pool table and a bar we use that space for sports or a movie sometimes with friends. I think if the bedroom is big enough I would do that. In you case you have some large walls that could accommodate a Besta type design with the TV even behind doors and some staorage and a bit of display . I find builtins usually are cluttered with a bunch of stuff not really worth displaying. I think in a contemporary space like yours I would not do traditional bookcase type display at all. Something like this idea would keep the TV at the proper viewing height and you could do the type of TV that looks like art when not in use...See MoreWhere Do I put my tv and how should I arrange my living room? Comments (5)Can you return it and get a smaller one? (I admit I think your fireplace wall is lovely and I personally wouldn't ruin it with a television. But I am a tiny minority who has lived without television for almost 30 years.) Is there another room in which to put it, or do you prefer to use this room for watching it?...See MoreBeverlyFLADeziner
