I'm still not getting a sense of your style...what is drama to one person may be crazy to another. I'd suggest searching in houzz for wallpaper and foyer in photos and see what might appeal. If you're going for modern drama then a large graphic may suit you. But keep in mind that it's not just the color but the level of contrast between the color and the background that's going to count in terms of how 'disturbing' the pattern is. If you're looking to warm up the area, then a woven texture could be what you want. This is an example of vibrancy driven by the boldness of the graphic design, the repetition of the pattern and the color contrast. It's certainly dramatic, though I couldn't live with it. And be aware that some papers really speak to a specific style be it asian influence... ...or traditional...

I would have it in my house in a minute. What bone inlay centerpiece? Where is it? This is fine craftsmanship! I have seen the fine wood and bone inlay work in the Middle East and in Spain, and let me tell you, you did a marvelous job. Not amateur-ish, or in poor taste at all. You should be really super-proud of yourself! Will you leave it as is, or enhance it more? When you are finished with it, you might want to polyurethane it to protect it. Have you ever seen the TV show Flea Market Flip? On that show people up-cycle things for quite a bit of money that don't hold a candle to what you just did right there. You might just have found yourself a way to make a pretty penny!

Very good thoughts, thank you. Yes, I am open to putting a piece of art over the console table. It would likely add some needed color. I can probably place an oval mirror in the front foyer part of the entrance. I'll look in Etsy at some paintings to see if there is anything interesting. I am very open to suggestions.
