Comments (41)Mantle Mount for above a fireplace. I agree with others to move the fireplace back to the wall opposite the kitchen and make the back wall all windows. You need as many windows as possible back there. Here's what I'd do if you can remove the nook and maybe pull the dining room down so it is on the same outside wall as the bedroom. It would mean making the front porch smaller, but that would help to bring even some northern light into the dining room. It would also give you a "hallway" from the foyer to the bedroom wing. This would make the back wall where the nook was all sliders to the backyard. This would help bring in more light to the kitchen and would make the whole back south wall windows. Plus since the nook is basically just a pass through to the master, it's basically useless as it was. I also moved the outdoor door from the master down further and added two windows on the east wall to the master. Moved the fireplace to the wall of the bedroom....See MoreNew pool build Buffalo NY. Comments (2)This door will be removed. BBQ area will be under here. Not sure if you can tell from the pictures but the concrete is pretty rough. Our PB suggested poring new concrete to bring it to the new level of the door and with the pool and stamping it all to look cohesive. Problem with that is it costs 14k and we would like to put that money into other things.Anyone have any suggestions as to how we can make it blend in and look nice with the new stamped concrete?...See MoreNew construction build. Comments (32)I'm not recommending all these various windows, just seeing how they might look. Generally, 2nd floor windows would be shorter then those on the first floor. Is there a dormer on the back side of the garage? If not, maybe flip it from the front to back. For siding, you cannot go wrong with using all lap. B&B is trendy now, but I've never seen a real farmhouse with it. The image also shows brick up higher than the foundation that was showing, so the builder would need to place the floor framing inside the foundation instead of on top....See MoreNew construction design help!
Comments (4)Lovely space!! In terms of layout a sectional could work if that’s the route you choose to go. I would do the back on the long wall facing the doors. And then the other part facing the niche/ tv wall ... Do you plan to put the tv there? Maybe get one of those art TVs so it looks nice when it’s off... In terms of the two niches on the sides you can do so many different things with them. Both pictures seem different. One is empty. And one looks like there may be cabinetry? If yes, I’d add art and a pretty book lamp. If it’s empty, I would probably do two benches on either side. Here are a few visuals of what the space can become. I used houzz products bc it’s easier to photoshop. Some are pricier than necessary and some I think you can find better. It’s really just to give you a better idea. If you specifically like a piece you can ask me, they are in my recently viewed so I can easily share the links... hope it helps 💖...See Moreqam999
